We had the good fortune of connecting with Jasmín La Carís and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jasmín, what do you want people to remember about you?
That I was an asset and inspiration for the community to be the best version of themselves in every aspect of their lives. In this way, they too will always be an asset and inspiration to those around them.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
That my life experiences, the relationships I build with others, and developing myself to be the best person I can be is more important to me than focusing on getting to the top of the pyramid in my business as far as I can. I believe that focusing on life, others and developing yourself, will help you to use those experiences to grow into the best artist you can be and to have the best thriving business you have imagined. However, it’s never easy. If it was easy, how would i have learned and grown stronger in my art, my business? Having fears and mourning your failings are all normal, but it’s what you do with them that matters. I’m just as normal as the next person, I have anxiety over my fears and I have my moments of mourning where I fail, but then I choose everyday, to get up, dust myself off, reflect and learn where I can do better, remembering that there’s always another “door” I can go through, grab my fears and failers by the “horns” and make it serve me rather than surrender to It.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them…

-Hiking in Yosemite Park.
-Drive in movies.

To these restaurants:
-The Annex Kitchen

And a local event like, Vintage Days, Rodeo festival or ArtHop.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband Omar Naré, who always believes I can be the Queen Bee in anything I endeavor and who is always by my side supporting me and pushing me to never give up on being the best artist I can be. My biggest dancer mentors, Adrianna Sanchez, Cristal Tiscareno, and Kara Bithell who all had a part in making me into the dancer I am today and continue to support me in endeavors.
And last but not least, my parents who have always supported me and continue to support me. Teaching me that balance bewteen life and being an artist is key. Life is always more important because life and the relationships you make and nurture will be your guide to being the best person you can be and therefore the best artist you can be.
