We had the good fortune of connecting with Janessa Vicenty and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Janessa, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Girls on the Go is all about creating meaningful, in-real-life connections that uplift and empower women. By curating inclusive events centered around wellness, creativity, and community, we provide a space for women to step away from the pressures of everyday life and reconnect—with themselves and each other.

Whether it’s a beach cleanup, a wellness workshop, or a co-ed networking night, our goal is to make community care fun and accessible. We also prioritize partnerships with local women-owned businesses and give back through volunteering and donation-based events. Our impact is rooted in connection, belonging, and showing up for our city and each other.

What should our readers know about your business?
What started as a small idea to gather women in San Diego for fun, wellness-based events quickly grew into something much bigger. I launched Girls on the Go with the intention of building a community where women could step out of their day-to-day routines and connect through shared experiences—whether it was a beach walk, a craft night, or a pop-up workout class. What sets us apart is that we make real-life connection feel effortless, fun, and elevated.

As the energy and demand grew, I realized we needed to expand our impact. That’s when Man on the Move was born—a space for men to plug into community in the same intentional, social-forward way. And now, with the launch of The On the Go Network, we’re bridging it all together: co-ed events, creative brand partnerships, and social experiences that reflect the modern, on-the-go lifestyle. It’s not just about hosting events—it’s about creating moments people remember, relationships that last, and a network that actually shows up for one another.

Getting to this point hasn’t been easy. Building something from scratch—without a blueprint—means learning on the fly. I’ve had to trust my gut, stay flexible, and let community needs shape our direction. The biggest lesson? People crave connection more than ever, and if you create space for it with intention, magic happens.

What I want the world to know is this: we’re just getting started. The On the Go Network isn’t just a brand—it’s a movement. And we’re here to create experiences that bring people together in a world that often pulls them apart.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My college best friend came into town recently, and I couldn’t have asked for a better weekend showing her around San Diego! We kicked things off on Saturday with a Girls on the Go event—our martini-making event—which was such a hit. It was so special to have her experience what I’ve built and hear her say how much fun she had connecting with the girls and trying something new. That night, we celebrated another best friend’s birthday out with all my favorite girls, and the energy was unmatched.

On Sunday, we spent the day in Pacific Beach—brunching, day drinking, walking the boardwalk, and soaking up the sunshine. We wrapped her trip on Monday with a full-day thrift tour (San Diego has the best secondhand gems) and ended with the ultimate “last supper” at Rakiraki in Convoy, one of my all-time favorite ramen spots.

If she had a full week here, I’d pack it with:

Food + Drink

Brunch at Morning Glory (a must!)
Sunset drinks at Bali Hai or Mister A’s
Taco Tuesday in Ocean Beach
Dinner at Callie or Jeune et Jolie for a splurge night

Activities

Beach day at La Jolla Shores or Windansea
Hike at Torrey Pines or Potato Chip Rock
Kayaking in Mission Bay
Thrift crawl through North Park + Hillcrest
A workout or pop-up event with Girls on the Go
Catch a Padres game or rooftop movie

Vibes + People

San Diego has such a creative, welcoming, wellness-loving energy. I’d introduce her to some of the amazing women I’ve met through Girls on the Go, and also plan a co-ed event through The On the Go Network so she could really experience how strong and inclusive this community is. Whether it’s beach bonfires or art nights, there’s always something happening here—and the people make it unforgettable.
