We had the good fortune of connecting with Jaime Lee Palladino and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jaime, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
There are three things I try to carry thru my career. One is to nurture and maintain relationships. No matter what industry, you never know who you will cross paths with and when an opportunity arises to do business together. Two, always be respectful and graceful, even if a deal doesn’t go your way. And three, check the ego at the door. It gets you no where.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a Realtor with Compass in La Canada. I’m fortunate enough to work with my Mom who is my Partner. I like to think what sets us a part from other in the business is that we appeal cross generationally to clients. Given our own generational gap, we relate to both the first time home buyer and the repeat home buyer. I’ve had my license since 2007 while my Mom has been licensed since 1985. I started right as the market crashed and decided to pivot and go into a marketing career for the next 15 years until I decided to buy and sell real estate, partnering with my Mom in 2019. We have been successful as we are both driven, attentive and knowledgable. My mom started in sales, became a Lender and started back in sales just before I joined her so we have a well rounded and versed in the industry always keeping a pulse on the ever changing market. We live in a do it yourself society from the self check out stations in grocery stores to DIY home projects learned via youtube videos. Real Estate requires a real advisor for one of life’s biggest investments. We provide our clients tailor made service.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The best thing about Los Angeles is you can go to the mountains and to the beach all in one day. So if a friend is in town for a week, there is so much to be seen and do, but my family tends to eat thru our vacations and plans activities around restaurants. I’d start with a hike in the Angeles Crest Forest. We live in the foothills in La Canada so hikes are all around us and they’re peaceful without the crowds. We’d stop in town for breakfast at Cafe Montrose to grab a slice of quiche with a side salad and waffles to enjoy with coffee. On a warm summer day we’d go to Annenberg Community Beach in Santa Monica. Its the perfect place to grab a bite on the beach at Back on the Beach cafe for lunch while the kids play in the sand and playground. Then we’d venture up the coast just a few minutes away to eat dinner at Giorgio Baldi where we’d order the Langostine sul Farro and Agnolotti. The next day we’d head the opposite direction to DTLA for a restaurant tour to include, Bestia for whatever specials they are offering coupled with the Cavatelli alla Norcina, then go for Mediterranian at Bavel for their spreads, grilled prawns and ribeye then to Factory Kitchen for their Handkerchief mandilli di seta Pasta, pappardelle and can’t miss the only Cannoli I’ll eat. We would take a break from eating and drive to one of our favorite family beaches and spend the day at Carpinteria state beach, known for being one of the safest kid beaches and would leave without a stop at Robitalille’s Find candy shop and eat at Guicho’s Italian and get the hearts of palm salad, Ravioli 3 cheese pasta and the Jumbo ricotta Cheese Ravioli. Everything is delicious, but yes two different ravioli dishes are a must. We would take a trip to Lake Arrowhead to spend some time on the water but also just to go to LouEddies Pizza for the white out pizza and veggie options, but for any of their homemade soups (even better in the winter). Head on to Big Bear and grab a dish from Tropicali. A little island vibe in the forest makes for a great collide of two worlds so far a part. Venturing back to Los Angeles, it wouldn’t be a trip without venturing into highland park to Wife and the Somm to enjoy a glass of wine and cheese in a beautiful calming indoor out door environment. We’d have to go to Hippo and Little Birdie and then over to Salazar in Silverlake for some dinner al fresco for their ceasar salad, guacamole and grilled fish. There are too many places to name, but back in Pasadena Osawa, Fishwives, Perle and Union are our favorites. Don’t forget to circle back to the foothills and stop in Glendale for our favorite mediterranean at Lemon Zest for perfectly cooked chicken and luleh kebabs and stop into Sarkis Bakery for the best Baklava you’ll ever taste. And because we’ve eaten our way through the week, we will have to finish off the week with more hikes at Duekmejian Wilderness Park in La Crescenta part of Glendale or visit Zorthian Ranch high up in Altadena to see the animals, hear the stories of the ranch and the artist colony and see the endless views below.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shoutout to my Husband, @ErikPalladino. He has always been a sounding board and my biggest supporter and encourages me to take risks. I also joke he’s my Chief Marketing Officer as he my human bullhorn sharing my services with others.
