We had the good fortune of connecting with Iwona Duniec and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Iwona, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
I got a few important lessons during my art career.

1. Never give up there is not such a think as an easy business.
2. Aways believe in yourself and follow your dreams because everything is possible.
3. Focus on your goals. As the saying “The energy flows where attention goes” Instead of complaining what is not working, focus on what you want. Embracing this technique will produce the result you desire.
4. Forget about haters! what others think of you is none of your business. There are always going to be people who don’t like you and don’t like your work. Remember you are not working for them. Be yourself, serve those who value who you are and who appreciate your work, choose to live by your own standards.
5. Trust yourself, trust your intuition sometimes our heart and our subconscious sends us important messages that our blinkered views or fears try to hide.
6. Never set up limitation they sky has no limit.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m most proud of my accomplishments as an artist I think I can call my self lucky to do what I love. I never feel like I’m at work and that’s for me the biggest rewards. It wasn’t always easy but my believing that profession is not what will brings you paycheck helps me to develop my self more and more.
I think that the real profession is your soul calling, what you were put on earth with such a passion and such intensity that it becomes spiritual. Living by passion builds confidence, fuels growth, gives sense of direction and drives me to success.

For me art means energy, it’s a journey to the “wonderland” where limit does not exist. It’s my dialog between color, light and canvas where I can store the vibration and share with the audience. It is never-ending research for meaning of something, that is beyond the limits of our capacity to fully describe in language.
I recognize that there is a depth dimension to the world beyond surface appearance, a supreme being, the divine, which connect all living beings. I’m fascinating by the presence and beauty of the universe what is very visible in my work and this is what I try to show to may audience.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
It depends what he/she will like to do. I live in Chicago so I will take my friend to downtown and show them the city: Museum of Art, Boat Architecture Tour so they can learn a little bit about history of the city, Planetarium will be a great idea too and maybe concert if was any. Than we will visited Soho House one of the best artists spot in Chicago, RPM restaurants, Restoration Hardware they serving delicious food there. Next will be the The Trump Tower, Signature Room, London House, they can see beautiful Chicago view ate end enjoy great music.
For sure some nice rooftops: Kensington Cindy, Godfrey Hotel., Hoxton Hotel ; they have a tree different floors : bar restaurant and jazz club etc.
Chicago has many beautiful places where my friend will love to hang out.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
In the begin my art career I didn’t have any person to motivate me besides myself , My desire to pursue the passion of art was stronger than anything else. Of course I was looking at the story of famous artists how they begin them art career and I always reminded my self I can do it to. Now I have one person who I can think of and this is my art master Wojtek Glinkowski, amazing artist and wonderful person. He always inspires me and motivates to be better and better in my skills.
The books which inspired me the most are:
” Alchemist” Paulo Coelho tale about self-discovery.
“Pursuit of Happiness” Chris Gardner the true tale about commitment and triumph.
“The magic of thinking big” by David J. Schwartz
