We had the good fortune of connecting with Iris Wud and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Iris, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I came up for the idea to create Vision Vocal when I was 16 years old. During this time of my life I felt that I was struggling to find a community of people that had the same creative interests and goals as me. I felt that starting Vision Vocal could be a way for me to not only meet other creatives, but also create a space where I can help connect everyone together and allow local creatives to meet and potentially collaborate with each other.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Aside from working on Vision Vocal, I also am working on my art career. My most recent pieces have been a reflection on personal experiences and trying to show the way they make me feel. I am currently working on a series of pieces that i plan to display all together at a show or gallery. The series includes sculptures, paintings, drawings, and collages. I have also done many art shows in the past. One of my favorites was a show i did with my friend Jacc james. I got to display my artwork as well as sell prints of stickers of my pieces. Being a part of art shows is one of my favorite things to do because i get to meet new people, see new artwork and also display the art that i have created over the years.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Someone that deserves a shoutout is my friend Kyew. Kyew has been a big part of Vision Vocal for the past few years. She helps out with our instagram posts, our video production, and connecting us with new creatives. She adds a lot to Vision Vocal, and I’m not sure where I’d be without her.
