Meet Gunay Miriyeva

Today we’re excited to be connecting with Gunay Miriyeva again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.
Gunay, we are so thrilled to be connecting again and can’t wait to hear about all the amazing things you have been up to. Before we jump into all of that, some of our readers might have missed our prior interview, so can you take a moment to reintroduce yourself?
I’m Gunay Miriyeva, a professional makeup artist specializing in beauty makeup. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working on major projects, including fashion shows, editorial publications, and bridal and special event makeup. My journey in the beauty industry has been driven by a deep passion for enhancing natural beauty and creating looks that empower and inspire confidence. What sets me apart is my ability to blend artistry with precision, ensuring that every client feels their absolute best—whether they’re walking down the aisle or down the runway. I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve had and excited for what’s ahead!

Great, so let’s jump into an update on what you have been up to since we last spoke. What can you share with us?
Since our last conversation, I’ve been traveling the world, immersing myself in different beauty cultures, and investing in learning from some of the industry’s top makeup artists. This journey has given me fresh inspiration and refined my skills in ways I’m excited to bring back to my work. Now that I’m back, I’m diving into new projects for fashion shows and bridal events, pushing creative boundaries with every look I create. But beyond working with models and clients, my goal has expanded—I want to teach and share my knowledge through masterclasses, helping aspiring artists refine their craft and step into this industry with confidence. The beauty world is always evolving, and I can’t wait to be a part of shaping its next chapter!

When you look back on your life, what are three things you expect to be proud of?
There was a moment in my life when I stood at a crossroads, faced with a choice that would define my future—stay in my comfort zone or take a leap of faith into the unknown. I chose the latter. I made the life-changing decision to leave everything behind and move to the United States alone, driven by nothing but my passion and the belief that I was meant for something bigger.
Starting from scratch in a new country was far from easy. There were challenges, setbacks, and moments of doubt, but I never let them shake my determination. Every struggle became a lesson, and every small victory fueled my ambition. I worked tirelessly, honing my craft as a makeup artist, pushing myself beyond limits, and embracing every opportunity that came my way.
Today, I am proud to say that I am not just living in the U.S.—I am a U.S. citizen, living my version of the American Dream. I have built a career that I love, worked on incredible projects, and connected with inspiring people who share my passion. This journey wasn’t just about following a dream; it was about proving to myself that with courage, resilience, and unwavering dedication, anything is possible.
This is my story, and it’s just the beginning.
