We had the good fortune of connecting with Gisell Saavedra and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gisell, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I’ve always enjoyed the side of the beauty industry and overall creativity since I was a little girl. I decided to start something of my own in 2020 and learning from experienced people and feeling confidence about it. I wanted to use my skills that I developed all my life and turning it into a reinforcement after my daily routine

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My carrer is still in the works, I am currently a PMU Student I am attending school in a Beauty Academy in Tecate Mexico, but I would say it had been tough, but keeping your mind in one step at a time has helped me stay focused and patience because we cannot speed up anything in life espetially your education I am exicted in practicing with my live models and putting in practice what I have been learning and practicingm. I am proud of the person i am becoming and doing what i really enjoy and doing what i used to call a hobby and now making it into a small business, what keepd me motived is seeing my client always returning back, accepting feedback, and always practicing because practices maked perfect, and I am confident that i will be a great PMU Artist. My primary goal is to exceed your expectations and to provide the highest level of customer service to each individual client, thereby establishing trust and commitment. Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take to the touristy places in San Diego, such as Mission beach, Balboa park to the museums since i love hiking. Taking them to the mountains in mission trails etc eat at Cajon Bistro for Beakfast and brunch, for dinner to Texas roadhoude and the night life to Downtown SD to Mr. Tempo

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to thank all the Beauty Entrepreneurs friends in Tecate Mexico where I got inspiration from, seeing how dedicated and humble these people are and how each and one of them makes them authetic in there own way, altho the beauty industry is very competitive in this small town but they hustle very hard to make it this far risking their low paid jobs and pursuing in school and creating and making their dreams come true such as owning their business. My husband and family too because they have taught how rough it was from them in there childhood and there life in mexico but getting through each milestone of there life and staying focused and faith on the positive side and being overall happy and humble with the very minimal things in life.
