Hi Ginevra, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Our long history began way back in 1936, when Afro Piccinini began working in Mantua in a workshop qualified in the repair of antique and modern watches.

In 1945 he decided to start his own watch repair business on behalf of various shops in the city.

In 1955, with the collaboration of his brother Arnaldo, he opened a laboratory in the very central Via Roma, and the following year he also began marketing antique and modern watches.

Over the years, our company experienced great development and extended its activity to the sale of antique jewellery.

Since 1964 the shop has become an authorized Rolex and Tudor dealer.

In 1989, with the entry into the company of his nephew Andrea (my father), a new sales point was opened under the arcades of the center, inside the “Corte Mercantile Apollo” gallery, where some of the most prestigious watch and jewelery brands.

On 31 August 2012 the company acquires a new and modern location in the historic and central Piazza Marconi: a prestigious sales point, arranged over two floors, where in over 350 meters of exposure and technical laboratory, customers are welcomed in an elegant atmosphere , reserved and relaxed where dialogue meets beauty.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
we are proud of all the successes achieved, there are always many obstacles, selling an important brand like Rolex is a great responsibility. in my family we always try to give our best and overcome problems head on by always giving our best. I am proud of what my uncle has created in the past, what my father has created so far and I hope with all my heart to follow the teachings I have been given

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
my city is called Mantua, I am proud of my origins, our history is very long. Mantua was a very important city in the past because it had three lakes around it and therefore it was very strategic during the war. as soon as you enter the city you cross the bridge of San Giorgio you admire the castle with the lake that surrounds it and you already understand that you have entered a fairy tale. we have some fundamental places that characterize our city, one of the most important is palazzo te, it was the summer residence of marquis Federico Gonzaga. each room and feature tells a different story. If we move towards the city center we can see one of the most famous churches in Italy, the church of Sant’Andrea. Its frescoes are unforgettable for anyone visiting Mantua. The famous poet Virgil was born in Mantua and his phrase in Latin will be famous “mangia me genuit” Mantua begat me

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
my uncle created a solid foundation, my grandfather contributed over the years. my father joined the family business in the 90s, and thanks to his skills he was able to bring success to a small family shop. in 2000 my mother joined the company, she always supported my father because she had the family business at heart. my main thanks goes to all of them, they have managed to create stability, and have combined the love of a profession with the family.
