We had the good fortune of connecting with Georgia Menides and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Georgia, what principle do you value most?

A writing teacher told me good writing should, “Disturb the comfortable and comfort the disturbed.”

It resonated with me because my writing, and life, does tend  to do just that. Maybe not disturb, but I love to push people out of their comfort zones just enough. And then I love  cheering them up, which is my form of comfort.

My darkest thriller script has LOL moments and my last feature film, a comedy, also jarred people with a character’s mental breakdown.

That philosophy is all under the umbrella that for whatever reason, I can’t stop writing scripts, or essays, or poems, or whatever and sharing them with as many people as I can.

Simultaneously, I LOVE well written films, scripts and stories from people I know. I was also born to help other filmmakers and writers I know find an audience for their work.  I would love to know that as a writer and a film supporter I have made a contribution to the artistic canon and made people  feel – distrurbed, and then comforted.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

I’m still building my empire, because I have several screenplays that aren’t out in the world (yet) but are in development and brewing.

I hope this article makes you interested in watching either or both of the two (award winning) movies I have had produced so far.

1/2 New Year is a raunchy comedy about a group of friends who bond together after a traumatic incident at their annual 1/2 New Year party. Looking for a heartfelt but funny movie about friends in LA? Check it out on Amazon, Tubi, Apple TV, Google Play.

If you are a teenager or have them, I hope they will watch Still Green – just released by Entertainment Oxygen a film festival platform easy to find online. When it was originally released in 2009, it shook up a lot of parents. Not the nudity, pot, or drinking, that didn’t help. The fact that there were no teachers or parents in the whole movie was unsettling, but liberating to a lot of teenagers. But the movie suggested that sometimes, parents don’t have the best answer, and police aren’t the solution either. I hope for a chance to have more teenagers watch it now that times have changed!

The rest of my screenplays require a few million dollars to make. I live paycheck to paycheck, so it may can take a while to build to that level. It may not. 2 of my projects I’ve been working on for years seem to be popping.

In the meantime,  just the process of development has already exposed so many people to both of these scripts and their stories and created unforgettable moments all the way around the world.

On that note, if you want to read either script, drop me a line.  It won’t be as good as one day watching the movie, but I promise a great read!

Inside the Butterfly Net is about a geneticist who has to risk her daughter’s life for a chance to save it when she discovers a potential cure in a new species in the Everglades. The website is www.itbnmovie.com –   It was a finalist at Austin FF,  Slamdance FF, and Hampton’s FF. aims to support genetic engineering, environmental preservation, holistic and western medicine, and the mystical properties of plants and animals. I want it to shake people up, all the way closer to a genetic cure a plethora of diseases and an entirely different health care to augment it.

All Sides of Kara is a multi perceptional psychological  romantic thriller and Anna Hornorata will be directing.

Logline – The truth about Kara’s past terrifies her new boyfriend Justin as they fall into a passionate but psychotic relationship, where only one of them will remain alive.

This is a mystery thriller, but it centers around the theme of domestic abuse and unresolved trauma.

My BEST project is going to be the series Adam and Taoland, which I am adapting with Jack Tymann the author of the best selling book of the same name. This inspirational fantasy fiction series takes on business, love, purpose and human awakening in the face of AI, all set on a magical planet.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?In Redondo Beach, we would swim, hang out at the Pier and eat soft pretzels and watch dolphins.  Then we would bike to Santa Monica ending on the pier there, watching the sunset from the Ferris Wheel! On the way, the Venice Strip. At night dinner in Santa Monica at The Misfit w free chocolate chip cookies!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I get so much inspiration from my two angels, writer/model Danielle Mott and  ADHD coach Ilana Gauss.
