We had the good fortune of connecting with franck houdin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi franck, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
my name is franck houdin and i am coming from france, i am a hairstylist since 37 years, get trained in my country and move with my wife maryline in 2000, start build up my business for a company is call jose eber and after 7 years decide to fly on my own, we found a cute spot in cardiff by the sea where that area become my photography sanctuary[hobby}, discovering that town, vibes and atmosphere.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
i did select this one but could be employee/professionnal because i am an hairstylist owner and photographer by hobby. i do 100% of my days with clientes, social, creativity, psychology so when i get to the end of my day or week i need to find a spot, destination to release my emotions and energy through my camera. my work as i say earlier is easy…it a passion since i was 15, i am 54, met in france a truly mentors, humain, i was 15 and they were like parents …they did show me the value of the living life meaning, respect, professionalism, be sincere. never give up, don’t put the barre to high, go with the flow, doesn’t matter what to do for living but doing it right, with your knowledge and your heart and if you are successful as my mentor alway said, always keep an eye from where you come from.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
i spend the last 17 years visiting borrego spring, for me is a close getaway and different than what we will see in europe and this is a big deal to make a visite in california where no matter were you go it do have cliche everywhere…love ky`s for breakfast after shooting with my camera early in the morning, seating upstair with ocean view, lunch at fish 101, and diner at waverly.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
when you get to the point of your life, it s never about effort, but passion, no one really was into the photography in my family,but i did grew up in country side and always been thanksful and amaze by nature who does inspire my photography.
