Meet Eve Batelle | Content Creator & Educator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Eve Batelle and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Eve, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
In my early 20’s I had a few extremely bad experiences in the corporate world, being fired unfairly and with retaliation that led me to file charges against them. While I did win, it left me with such a bad taste in my mouth about the abuses some experience in the work place and I knew I did NOT want to return to the same predatory environment I was forced to leave abruptly. Instead I chose to take the power and control in my own hands and created SoCalsAngels to give others the ability to have the same experience of freedom from the stereotypical 8–5 box that I got.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
SoCalsAngels started out as promotional model talent management. Stemming from my long time training in performing arts in NYC, I knew the type of safe environment I wanted to foster for those who worked for me and I arrived to do that with a passion. It was never easy, showing up to event after event, paving your own path to get the connections needed to survive in this industry. Eventually it grew into an entire promotional team including custom product designs and the ability to deploy it all within my hold. Having friends close in the industry helped in keeping my head in the game even when there may have been disappointments along the way. Having the help to stay accountable in all aspects of my work has really been a cornerstone of good business.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I grew up in Southern California where almost anything you want could be within less than a 2 hour drive. Starting in San Diego and working ourselves north we would go wine tasting at one of the 100+ local wineries with gorgeous views of the valley. Horseback riding through the vineyards, hiking up any number of our beautiful trails. There’s Hollywood Blvd and the famous Chinese Theater with the handprints of all our favorite stars to compare our footprints with to see who’s we were closest to in size. Then maybe walks on the beach any day or night that we feel like it interspersed with delicious food, there could never be a dull moment if that’s what you’re looking for!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The shoutout goes to my family for allowing me to be the strong, independent person that I always had hiding inside. To all those who pushed me to become better by telling me I couldn’t.
