Meet Ethan Kaminsky | Entrepreneur, Photographer, Videographer and Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ethan Kaminsky and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ethan, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I knew I wanted control over my work/life balance and did not want to report to anyone or need to ask for time off, etc. Time is the only thing we cannot make more of so it is important to have as much control of how one spends that time.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I started as a commercial advertising photographer in 1992. I believe that to be successful, you need to be able to adapt and pivot as the business environment changes. I have been a sole proprietor and have also had more than 10 employees. I have focused on photography, but have adapted and expanded over the years to offer full service advertising agency services, web development and design, and video production. With the recent pandemic, we added live streaming and content capture to our services which seems now to be the way of the future. I have made mistakes, taken chances and had successful and not so successful financial years. That adaptation has helped me to survive and grow. At the end of the day, my company strives to provide visionary image solutions across through photography, video, design and production.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Come to the Coachella Valley and make sure not to miss a visit to Mitch’s Prime Seafood, Little Bar, Le Vallauris or Le Fe Wine Bar. For recreation, there is always the Tram, the Indian Canyons, amazing hikes and golf. Joshua Tree National Park is within an hour or so and along the way make sure to stop at Pappy and Harriets.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I owe much of my success to my parents. It sounds cliche, but of course I wouldn’t be here without them. Their modeling of a good work ethic, following your dreams, and being the best you can at whatever you choose to do in life is what has stuck with me most. Their support and encouragement was the icing on the cake. Over the last 7 years, I had the privilege to work with my father before he retired in 2021. I am grateful for that opportunity and what has afforded my continued success.
