We had the good fortune of connecting with Erin and Nick Suhadolnik and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Erin and Nick, why did you pursue a creative career?
For both of us, our career paths have happened organically and over time. We are examples of the fortunate few that followed a passion or curiosity which evolved into a career that supports our lifestyle. We took a chance by spending our time at a job that some may not have to learn, we took that leap of faith, and we followed our intuition. The goal has always been, “Do what you love. Love what you do.”. We feel very lucky to be able to run CAMP SUHA and create these memory maker Camper Vans that bring adventure and joy to our clients. Because after all, adventure and joy similarly, is what we pursued to get here.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We build custom van conversions for those that want to get out on the road more often and in a fun and comfortable way. Those vans with the beds in the back and those tiny homes on wheels that you’ll see posted up at the beach, that’s us! We believe our attention to detail, craftsmanship, and really listening to and getting to know our clients is what sets us apart from other builders. This is truly a passion of ours. We live this and enjoy traveling this way ourselves. Getting to create and share this experience with others is truly a joy.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We live in Encinitas so we’d start with a sunset and a beverage on our back porch most likely, then walk over to Chiko for dinner and Little Fox Cups and Cones for dessert. In our neighborhood we also love Thai food at Bangkok Bay or Birds Eye Kitchen, but also Oysters at Corner Pizza or Herb and Sea. We usually go down to North PB to see friends and bike the boardwalk, grab a Java Earth Coffee and then brunch at Second Nature.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
SO many people have helped us along the way. It would honestly take a short book to mention everyone we are grateful for on this path. We would definitely like to shoutout to our families and friends for their support and encouragement during our successes and hard times. And to all of our previous employers and mentors who gave us the opportunity to learn from them and grow. Reading “The Tipping Point” by Malcom Gladwell was a real ah-ha moment for me (Erin).
