We had the good fortune of connecting with Ericka Castaños and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ericka, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I wanted to start my own business because I became a stay home mom. I used to work a 9-5 job in customer service. I always enjoyed helping out others. I knew I wanted to start something at home and be able to help out other families. I didn’t know how but I knew it was something I wanted to pursue.

When I had my daughter I started a social media just for pictures and sharing what was happening with my family at first. Then I stumbled across a group of creators on Instagram. I supported them along the way but while I was doing that I stumbled upon a group of bloggers. I immediately loved everything about what they shared and wanted to start my own blog. I had no clue what I was doing everything I know is from trial and error. So I started sharing snippets of my family and things I would use with my own family. When I started my blogging journey I knew that I would stay true to myself. I wanted to stay positive and informative with my community that I was building.

Now 3 years later and I’m still here and I wouldn’t change a thing. I have been enjoying my journey on my social media platforms. Being able to experience so many thing with my family from events to filming. A journey that I do not want to stop as it makes me happy.

I want to show my kids that Anything is Possible in life. No matter what obstacles life throws at us we are able to overcome those obstacles by staying focused and working hard.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As a digital creator everyday is a new challenge as you have to always put your best work out to the public. Being able to attract the right people to see my content is sometimes challenging with changes coming our way weekly sometimes. I do have those weeks that go super easy and it’s a huge win on my side.

As a mom, wife and a business owner I’m always busy and challenging everyday. So staying organized is very important. Having content ready is so crucial or else I wont be able to complete task everyday. Every Sunday I make sure I have everything ready to start a new week.

I like to stay positive towards life and be able to show others that anything is possible in life. We just have to stay focused in what we want. Staying true ourselves and our story.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would definitely hit up Victoria Gardens for some shopping and after we would visit Mama Por Dios for dinner and drinks.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to thank my husband Thomas Castaños for always being by my side and believing in me. Now it’s my turn to stay by his side as he starts his new endeavors with his woodworking business.
