Hi Empress, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor when it came to my success is, having passion for what I do, staying optimistic, working in my true authentic self while staying committed and having clarity when it came to the direction I wanted to go in.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Not only am I a Tarot reader and spirit medium which known as Empress Joshett. I am the owner of Joshetts bookstore. A traveling black woman owned bookstore that specializes in cultured children and adult metaphysical books. Loving what I do and not giving up on my vision is ultimately what got me to where I am now. When I was younger I was obsessed with books and found myself reading and loving to take trips to the library. There was a time I wanted to be a librarian.So I decided to do just that,I became my own librarian.This has not been the easiest to obtain, but anything worth having and that is meant to be great will not be easy. Conquering self doubt is one of the biggest challenge I faced right next to funding my own business.
Joshetts bookstore believes there is a book for everyone and it’s even better with a dash of magic in it.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Visiting the beach is always a great experience to meet people and enjoy the ocean. From Huntington Beach to Newport Beach there are many restaurants to eat at and places to rent out surfboards or bicycles. Of course we’re in California so visiting Hollywood to see the stars and universal studios to visit the sets of some of our favorite movies and shows.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I dedicate my shout out to my family! Each person has inspired me, taught me, and pushed me through each stage of my success.
