We had the good fortune of connecting with Emily Sanchez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Emily, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Believing in myself and having a strong support system of family and friends has been the cornerstone of my success and the success of my brand. Through every challenge and setback, it is the belief in my abilities and the motivation from my friends and family that pushes me forward. My support system provides the encouragement and reassurance I need during moments of doubt, and they lift me up, reminding me of my strengths and encouraging me to keep working on my goals. I also rely on my self-assurance and creativity in order to take bold risks, and it also helps that I genuinely love what I do. My positive and motivational mindset has not only moved me forward but has also attracted others to my brand, as they see the genuine passion that I bring to everything I do.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
When I’m asked what I do for a living, I always stumble on the question. I feel as though I wear multiple hats as an entrepreneur, but my answer is always: I am a business owner (e-commerce) and a content creator.

What I think sets me apart from others is that I never thought I would be a business owner. In a way it just happened when I started sharing my hobby for home decor and plant care on Instagram back in 2018, and once I allowed myself to be creative, it is when my full potential began to show. Sharing my hobby on Instagram led me to the world of content creation which I had no idea existed. From there it led me to working on my first product since I had dipped my toes a little in brand development and realized I loved it.

I am very grateful and fortunate that my small business has been a success so far on not only my online shop but also on Amazon, and retailers all over the US, Canada, and Europe. But thats only half of it. Content creation is a full time business of itself, and I pride myself in also creating a personal brand that is well received by likeminded people.

It definitely has not been easy, but with he support of my family and friends, they help me get through tough times or if I am ever doubting myself. I have learned many lessons along the way but what I constantly tell myself is that if I have made it through some very tough times in my life, then with whatever hurtle comes my way next, I will always be a little more stronger.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There is so much to do the San Diego, it is truly my favorite city! Not only can you get to mostly everything in about 15 minutes, but the scenery on your way to get there is beautiful, I would of course start the day off at one of my favorite local coffee shops; Communal Coffee, Better Buzz, and Dark Horse just to name a few. Next we need to do a nice scenic walk at sunset cliffs, the scenery is always beautiful and it’s a great way to start the day. Of course for lunch time we need to hop around and try a few things at different neighborhoods. We can enjoy Salud! in Barrio Logan, City Tacos in one of their various locations, and if we want some views and Seafood, we need to go to Brigantine for the experience. If the beach is where we’d rather be, then I love going to Pacific Beach because there is always something fun to get into there and quick grub we can have while enjoying the sun like Board & Brew for their awesome sandwiches. Once it’s dinner time, there is no other place I would rather take my bestie than to Little Italy. There are so many amazing bars and restaurants there, Born & Raised is definitely one of my favorites.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mother deserves immense credit and recognition for the success I have achieved in my business. Her tireless work ethic and sacrifices have been the foundation of my drive and determination. From the moment she immigrated from Mexico at a young age, she worked multiple jobs to provide for our family, all while remaining a present and positive parent. Even after the loss of my father, she became the glue that held me and my siblings together, pushing herself even harder to ensure we had everything we needed.

My mother’s strength and resilience has shown me that I am capable of anything I set my mind to. Her constant belief in me has instilled a deep sense of self-confidence and optimism and she has truly shaped me into a person who constantly strives for success.

I carry her lessons with me every day, remembering the values she instilled in me: hard work, perseverance, and gratitude. Without her support and the values she has taught me, I wouldn’t have had the courage to pursue my dreams and build my business. My success is not only a reflection of my own efforts but also a testament to her love, sacrifices, and belief in me.
