We had the good fortune of connecting with Emily Dingmann and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Emily, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
The big WHY of my business is to help the next generation of kids grow up with a healthy relationship to food. So many of us have struggled with diets and disordered eating and it’s something I don’t want this generation of kids to go through.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I create content that ultimately is designed to help parents feel good about mealtime. It’s been a journey that started with storytelling and terrible pictures on my circa 2009 food blog to recipe development, turning my food blog into a business, working with brands to create content, and helping parents with the overwhelming task of feeding kids.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Because my world always leads back to food, food will be at the center of any outing!
I’d make sure you are visiting Minneapolis in the summer (unless you’re super into winter and saunas!) and would take you to the best restaurants (Hai Hai, 112 Eatery, Yumi Sushi, Lola, and so many more), farmer’s markets (Mill City!), the sculpture garden, and a walk around Lake Calhoun.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My business coach and mentor, Nicole Culver, who believed in me before I could believe in myself!
