Meet Ekaterina Alenteva | Professional Tattoo Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ekaterina Alenteva and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ekaterina, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I chose the career of a tattoo artist, because for me it is not just a profession, but an art through which I can express my creative essence and convey a piece of the history of every person who addresses me. In every work I create, I try to combine my skills as an artist with the personality and desires of the client to create a unique and intimate work of art on their skin. Tattoos for me are not just drawings, but bright marks on the path of life that will forever remain a part of a person. Being able to take part in the process of creating such meaningful works of art for people is my calling and the most important inspiration for me.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I work in the color realism genre, in which each individual work requires not only skill from the artist, but also the ability to see and convey a variety of shades, plays of light and shadow. And I can definitely say that my path in the career of a tattoo artist was not easy. Long years of studying painting, and after several years of training in the profession of a tattoo artist, in order to achieve the necessary skill to create an image in the realism genre.
I pay maximum attention to every detail of the work. I study in detail the image that should be a tattoo, and purposefully work to make it look as realistic as possible. I work through all the textures, shades and every line.
A good artist never rests on his laurels. I am constantly developing, studying and trying new materials and tools. This allows me to achieve even more accurate reproduction of colors and shades, creating unique, lively and vibrant tattoos that will look beautiful for many years to come.
I take pride in my approach to working with clients. I listen to their wishes, put my heart and soul into every work and try to do my best to make them happy with the result. I understand that a tattoo is not just a drawing on the skin, it is a process that should embody the story, emotions and significance for each client.
I want to expand society’s understanding of tattoos as an expressive form of self-expression and prove that tattoos can be a real art that will last for years to come.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
To be honest, I myself am in California recently and would love to hear the answer to this question. For now, I enjoy the simple pleasures of life, such as occasional weekend hikes to the most obvious places like Malibu and the Griffith Observatory. In terms of food, I’m a big fan of Asian food and recently discovered Sato Ramen House in Old Town Pasadena. I advise everyone to visit it and try the Taiwanese bibimbap. It’s amazing!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I definitely would like to give a shoutout to my friends who always support me! They are from two very different tattoo studios: Artcollector tattoo (ig: @artcollectortattoo) and Ritual Art Collective (ig: @ritualartcollective). Every artist who works there they are incredibly talented.
