Meet Dave Friedman | Life Coach, Speaker, Trainer, Musician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dave Friedman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dave, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I had an inkling, I call it a niggling disquiet, that there was something more for me to do. It wasn’t fully formed, but I did listen. Then I simply followed the next indicated steps and was lead to coaching. I believe I was called. It’s not the first time I worked for myself, so that part wasn’t hard.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I was fortunate to play in a band that did get signed and toured some of the big rooms with some of the big bands. That in itself is a blessing. After that adventure had run its course, we had the opportunity to play shows twice a year for almost 15 years to our very appreciative fans. To be able to experience that over and over again is truly something special.
As far as my coaching goes, what sets me apart is me. There are many coaches out there, plenty to go around. No one does what I do, as I don’t do what any other coach does. I strongly suggest that people find a good fit and go with it. Being coached is truly a life-changing experience.
Is it easy? Is anything worthwhile truly easy? How did I overcome challenges? Still doing it.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am blessed to live in a place where people go on vacation. Anyone that comes here has to see Laguna Beach and drive up and down PCH stopping in places like San Clemente, Dana Point, CDM, Huntington… Have dinner and drinks on a pier watching the sun go down over the ocean… You get the idea. Then how ’bout we go inland and drive the Ortega? Just like that we’re in the middle of nowhere.
Where to you want to go? I’ll take you there.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
As a coach, I truly appreciate what a good coach can do. I know I would not be the person I am today without Elle, my coach. She happens to live out of state.
One book that I have emulated is ‘The Prosperous Coach’ by Rich Litvin and Steve Chandler. The premise is that when we serve powerfully, that is what draws people to us. This advice, to give without worrying about receiving, is valid over all disciplines and life situations. It is not possible to give too much.
