We had the good fortune of connecting with Dasha Pirela and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dasha, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
This are questions that come to mind every once in a while and I think of many ways to respond them but there’s never a definite one. At the end of the day I just keep going, not sure why but it’s in my nature to keep going, there’s in innate drive that pushes me to create and continuously learn with a unclear end goal other than feeling a sense of purpose and belonging and that’s how I know I should keep going.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Since I started my professional career as Content Producer/Editor even though it’s in the creative field I’ve never or rarely worked on my personal creative projects. Always felt that my creativity was shown and expressed in my work, until I started working as a Freelance Content Editor where I got the chance to create my own personal brand that could attract the kind of clients aligned with my values and aesthetics and that gave me a creative freedom and playfulness to my day to day work. Now after almost 10 years as a freelancer working along the most amazing and the inspiring people and brands I’ve felt the need and drive to step out of the role of “behind the scenes” to a more hands on role as a curator. Curator of all the the things I come across that are worth sharing with others. I’ve learned that I needed to find a medium where I could express myself and at the same time help others in their creative expression journey. This is why I’m working on a fun project (coming soon) where I will be sharing best discoveries within experiences, people, places and anything I come across worth sharing. My goal is to inspire and ignite a sense of purpose or belonging in others.
My biggest challenge at the moment is that since I work from home I lack of a network of creatives that I can share and bounce ideas with and work in a collaborative/motivational setup.
For now I’m working on building this project with the hope that in the near future it will be a space for the Creative Curious to share their journeys, challenges and insights to inspire + support others navigating similar paths.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Ohh this is one of my life Ethos sharing spots and hideouts with others.
I’m based up in North County San Diego but I love to explore what the area and outside has to offer. San Diego is an outdoor city and the best plans are for free.
Start the day with a great coffee, so many options here I are my top 3 spots: Rose Hill Purveyors in Cardiff by The Sea,
Coffee Coffee in Leucadia and Revolution Roasters in Oceanside. Next from either of these coffee shops you can easily take a beautiful beach walk or if its mid day you can take a fun stroll to town to check out cute boutiques and fun restaurants.
If you’re more adventurous I will definitely recommend taking a hike at Torrey Pines or Annie’s Canyon Trail in Solana Beach
and then stop around Downtown Del Mar or Solana Beach – Cedros Design District for a stroll. Once you beach day has ended I love to recommend heading to the Meditation Gardens in Encinitas for a beautiful view of the coast or you can head down to La Jolla for a fun encounter with sea lions in their natural habitat.
Best part of the day is definitely Sunset time. Pick up some of your favorite snacks or tacos and a picnic in the coast to catch one one best sunsets in the world. Any coastline is a great spot but some of my favorite spots are: Sunset Cliffs, Cardiff Reef Moonlight Beach and Oceanside Pier.
To end the night I highly suggest a few restaurants that have great vibes and of course menu.
Valentina and Birdseye Kitchen in Leucadia, Campfire in Carlsbad or a fun fire-pit session at Moonlight Beach.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My Shoutout is to Daniel Marinielli from Half Frame Club. An online photography club dedicated to the lost art of Half Frame 35mm photography. He has been a true source of energy and inspiration to work on my creative endeavors.
Gracias Dan
