Meet Dani Thompson

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dani Thompson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dani, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
As an actress, I’ve always been deeply connected to emotion, energy, and the human experience which naturally led me to explore holistic therapy. The demands of the industry can be intense, and over time, I realized how important it was to have tools for grounding, healing, and staying balanced. That’s what inspired me to start my own business as a holistic therapist.
It began as a personal journey, learning various wellness practices to support my own wellbeing. But the more I learned, the more passionate I became about sharing these tools with others, especially fellow creatives who often face similar pressures.
Starting Stardust Holistics wasn’t just about having a side hustle, it was about offering something meaningful, creating space for healing, and using my platform to promote self-care, inner work, and conscious living.
It’s a beautiful balance for me: one path allows me to express outwardly through performance on screen, while the other allows me to guide inward transformation and healing.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I actually started out as a model, which gave me a strong foundation in self-discipline and presence in front of the camera. But I knew early on that I wanted to be taken seriously as an actress, not just seen as ‘a model who acts.’ That’s why I made the conscious decision to train properly and enrol in drama school. It was important to me to learn the craft, study the work, and prove to myself and to others that I was fully committed to the art.
After graduating, I didn’t set out with the intention of focusing solely on horror, but it just kind of went that way and I’m so grateful it did, I definitely found my niche. There’s something really powerful about the genre. Horror pushes boundaries, explores deep emotions, and often reflects the human psyche in ways other genres don’t. It’s given me opportunities to explore intense roles and build a strong fan base who genuinely appreciates my work.
Working in the entertainment industry can be incredibly intense, and I needed tools to stay grounded, centered, and well emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. As I trained in Reiki, crystal healing, and sound therapy, I felt called to share those tools with others.
What sets my business apart is that I bridge two very different worlds: the grounded, disciplined world of performance, and the intuitive, healing world of holistic therapy. I understand what it’s like to be in high pressure environments, to feel vulnerable, to navigate self doubt because I’ve lived it. And that empathy deeply informs the way I work with clients whether in person or during online sessions.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Leaving London and moving to the North East was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
As much as I love London, its energy, diversity, and the incredible experiences I had while living there, there’s something undeniably special about life by the sea. The pace is gentler, the air feels cleaner, and there’s a kind of peace that settles in when you’re surrounded by nature every day.
If my best friends, Cheryl Neve and Megan Lockhurst, were visiting for a week, I’d be absolutely thrilled to show them the magic of this part of the world. Between the wild landscapes, cosy corners, and soul-nourishing hidden gems, we’d craft a week full of relaxation, adventure, and inspiration.
It would definitely have to be a summer visit, the winters up here are freezing! We’d start with a hike around Holy Island, which you can only reach via the causeway when the tide is low. It’s steeped in history (it’s where the Vikings first landed in the UK), and the spiritual energy of the island is something you really have to feel to understand. We’d also explore parts of Hadrian’s Wall, walking along the ancient Roman ruins with the wind in our hair and endless views all around.
One of my favourite nature spots is Hareshaw Linn, I’d take them there for a woodland hike that ends at a magical waterfall, where we’d brave a dip in the pool beneath it.
Another walk I absolutely love is the coastal route from Tynemouth Priory to St Mary’s Lighthouse and back. We’d stop at Fisherman’s Bay along the way for their amazing vegan fish and chips, then browse Tynemouth Market, where I’d make a beeline for the crystal stalls.
We all share a love of antique hunting, so I’d take them to Fannies Antiques Emporium in Morpeth. It’s the kind of place you can get lost in for hours. In fact, we’ve been known to stumble across antique stores mid-hike and spend so long rummaging through treasures that we end up finishing the hike in the dark!
We’d definitely make time for a day trip to Alnwick, visiting the intriguing Poison Garden and then warming up with a proper chip butty in the cosy café at Barter Books, one of the most magical second-hand bookshops you’ll ever set foot in.
Even though I’ve never done one before, I’d love to book us on a ghost walk around Newcastle. I don’t know much about its haunted history, but I can’t think of two better people to explore it with. A little spooky fun sounds like the perfect addition to the trip.
Of course, no summer visit would be complete without long days at the beach, sea glass hunting, picnics, swims in the North Sea, vegan BBQs, and little bonfires at sunset to keep us warm after a dip. Some of the best conversations happen by firelight with salty hair and sandy feet.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to shout out to Paul Cotgrove and his team who organise Horror on Sea, Spencer Hawken and his team from Lumiere Cinema and The Romford Film Trust and Singh Lall who is full of support for the independent film industry.
