We had the good fortune of connecting with Dan Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dan, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
We give a damn about our agent partners! We have a few things we focus on over here at Anvil, one of them being “We’ve got your back, that’s why we’re on your back.” The Anvil crew is our business family. We don’t just let them hang out and fail. They come here for a reason which is to succeed at a high level. It’s our responsibility to not let them slide. We help hold them accountable to whatever it is they know they should be doing and said they were going to do. They can rely on us to help them make sure they achieve what they set out to do and hit their goals, personally and professionally.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Anvil Real Estate is Built on Trust, Powered by Tech, Inspired by You.
We are a boutique real estate firm operating as a major brand in terms of tools and market share.

It’s been the opposite of easy. It’s been 4 years of blood, sweat and tears. Two things that I’ve focused on along the way are to have thick skin and to never let a day go by where I don’t move the needle closer to our goals. Every day. Inch-by-inch. That’s been a big reason for our success. Thank you Jon Cheplak for that advice.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in Disneyland. Literally. Well, almost. It’s just a few minutes up the road. So everything cliche you think about when someone says Southern California; yeah we have that. Do that. Go there. Beaches. Restaurants. Trails. It literally is paradise.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Book that made the most impact – The Richest Man in Babylon for a true understanding of Wealth Building

My mentors coming up – The late great Tim Wood taught me so much my first few years in business. And then Neil Schwartz continued in that role molding me (and even my wife) and teaching too many lessons to begin to mention.

Brad Inman for exposing me to real estate ecosystems outside of brand bubbles.

Guy Gal, Hilary Saunders and Ed Wu for founding a company that has given me the resources and support to launch, build and operate a successful brand.
