We had the good fortune of connecting with Damaris Dover and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Damaris, what inspires you?
I am inspired by several things and depending on the topic. It looks different. For example, I am inspired by seeing fashionistas on Instagram and Pinterest when it comes to fashion and style.  Generically speaking, in my everyday life, I find inspiration in many things. People I meet, nature, sometimes just the quiet in my own head. I find something deep in there that inspires me to pursue something. My parents and husband inspire me a lot to always push myself and continue growing and evolving.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Being a Realtor is not easy contrary to what most people think. I’m not saying it’s difficult either, but it takes a certain type of person to last in this business. I am proud that I have pushed and continued to grow my business. When I started posting on Instagram my real estate content years ago, I would get no responses, but I knew one day it would pay off. I’d post consistently and keep a balance of my personal life and real estate. I wanted my followers to get to know the real me. I want them to trust me because you should work with someone you trust when it comes to buying/selling a house. After years of posting and gaining people’s trust, I now have multiple buyers I’m working with, all from social media, a few looking to buy 1+ million dollar homes. I’ve also won #1 Real Estate Agent on Social Media 3 years in a row because of my dedication to posting and providing quality content. It’s not easy, and many people struggle with social media, but I think I have found a good rhythm. Throughout the years of being a blogger/influencer/realtor, I learned that you have to be 100% honest with your followers. The more honest and raw I was, the more followers I gained and their trust!!!! My brand is about honesty and trust with a hint of fashion. I despise being put in a box. That’s why I never claimed to be a “real estate blogger” or strictly “fashion blogger” because I am all of those things and more. My brand is me, Damaris. My followers know that, and I love that they have accepted me, the whole me.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Santana Row is a must. You got shops, restaurants, bars, and more. Total cute European vibes you can take pictures of every step of the way. I love the ambiance. You also got Valley Fair Mall right across the street from Santana Row, which is great to walk over and shop some more. They have also added a whole new outdoor section that’s cute. If you’re into the outdoors, like hiking, I recommend going to Almaden Quicksilver County Park. If you want to drive a little way out, like 30 mins, Henry Cowell State Park has giant redwoods that will take your breath away. There is literally a tree you can walk inside of. It’s pretty awesome. San Pedro Square is a must, located in Downtown San Jose. A lot of good restaurants like Olla Cocina, Sushi Confidential, and the Old Spaghetti Factory. I highly recommend Crema, Nirvana Soul, Voyager Coffee, and K Cafe Patisserie & Tea House if you’re a coffee-lover.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Someone who has been in my corner supporting and encouraging me to always go for it is my parents and husband. I thank them a lot for always being there rooting for me in everything and anything I want to pursue. They are the best!! Love you guys!
