We had the good fortune of connecting with Clementine Levy and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Clementine, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
At first, i was looking for a place similar as a coffee shop but i knew i needed something more, as so many coffee shops were opening at this moment in Paris. So i’ve been searching for something which hasn’t been done yet, and suddenly it appears to me that mixing a coffee and a flower shop might be a good idea! I’ve started learning both jobs and then PEONIES was open!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
When I’ve started learning flowers, I didn’t know anything about how to mix them, take good care of them or so on. But soon enough i’ve understood that the classic way wasn’t for me. So I’ve been practicing and practicing, without having any diploma because flower schools in France are way too classical for me. And I am very proud of that because even if it was very tough and hard to learn all by myself, thanks to that i’ve been able to find my own style without any shackle or so.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There is so many things to do in Paris… I’ve been living there for almost 12 years now and I haven’t seen all the things i want to yet! For sure start in the very center of the city, in le Marais, hang out in the streets, have some food “sur le pouce” and keep on walking, if you see a little door open, go threw it and see what happens! Then you can go North to Montmartre and the iconic Parisian streets or South to Saint Germain des Près : the fancy part of Paris. There is so many good restaurants in Paris, you will never be able to taste all of them! But try to avoid very busy areas and look more for hidden little streets. If you see typical parisien people at a terrasse : you can definitely go there!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My life partner Ludo : without him, i would never be where I am today.
