We had the good fortune of connecting with Claudia Leal and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Claudia, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
The idea for my business started as I was going to school at Healing Hands School of Holistic Health. I was taking Neuromuscular Therapy where I learned how the mind-body connection impacts our health. I wanted to be a knowledgeable Massage Therapist & Holistic Health Practitioner who can educate others while creating change in their bodies through bodywork. After I graduated I learned Reiki, a Japanese energetic relaxation modality. This took my business and my health to a deeper level of healing. I incorporated my knowledge of the human body and energetic body to provide Reiki massages to help others heal physically, emotionally, and mentally just as I did.

What should our readers know about your business?
What sets me apart from other massage therapists is the energetic and emotional work that I incorporate in my bodywork. I create a safe space for others to feel, release, and integrate what they are experiencing physically, emotionally and mentally. Thus creating a long lasting change in their bodies and improving their quality of life.

I’m most proud of how I’ve been able to help so many heal with my style of bodywork. The feedback I get from my clients, makes everything I have gone through to get here worth it. I hope to continue sharing my knowledge and experience with others so they too can heal and improve their health with bodywork.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would start the week by taking my best friend to Mission Bay. I would rent a Duffy boat and spend a few hours on the water and enjoy the view and sunshine. After a day in Mission beach, I would head over to Slater’s 50/50 in San Diego for a delicious burger and a refreshing beer to satisfy our hunger.

The following day, we would visit La Jolla Cove to check out the seals and The Cave store. We would eat at Sushi on the rocks in La Jolla to end the day watching the sunset.

Later in the week we would head up to do a hike in Guy Fleming Trail. Afterwards we would have dinner in Solana Beach,my hometown, to eat some delicious Mexican food at Fidel’s Little Mexico. One of my favorite places to eat Mexican food and margaritas!

Next I would take her to Balboa Park to check out the Japanese friendship garden and the Natural History Museum. Both great places to experience while visiting San Diego. After visiting these places, we would travel to Old Town San Diego to check out the Whaley House. For dinner we would go to Tuetano Taqueria for some birria tacos.

Lastly we would head up to Temecula Wine Country for wine tasting at Robert Renzoni Winery. It’s my favorite winery because they have a great wine & beer on tap, delicious food and spectacular views.

Our week exploring San Diego County would be amazing!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The first person I want to give a shout out to is my Reiki Master, Darla Conchas, owner of Sage Moon Energy Healing. Thank you for being my mentor and dear friend. She’s played an important part in my healing and career to develop Reiki Massages.

The second person is another mentor of mine who is also a Massage Therapist, Laurie Reynolds owner of Trinity Wellness Network. She has inspired me to be the massage therapist I am today. Through her guidance and hands-on training, I have been able heal and help others heal too.

Both of these ladies are the reason I have had so much success in my life and business. I can’t thank them enough.
