Meet CJ Swade | Lead singer/Frontman for Gainesville The Band

We had the good fortune of connecting with CJ Swade and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi CJ, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind the success of my Band is the love and enjoyment Factor with the music and having a level of pride and commitment to bringing a high level of entertainment to the audience!

I love what I do every single time and I am creating memories for myself and for everyone who attends one of our shows!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have always had a creative mindset since I was a young boy growing up in Gainesville, Georgia.
Always enjoyed creating art and enjoying singing with my sisters and brothers on old tape machines. As I got older I found myself writing songs, writing poetry, and writing stories.

Though I had no formal training in any of these genres, I found that it came somewhat natural to me. Getting positive feedback from both family and friends, and people that didn’t know me convinced me that I had some talent that I needed to pursue further.

And through the years I’ve been pursuing my singing and entertainment obsession and enjoying every moment of it!

At this point in my life I do it mostly for the love and enjoyment I get out of it! It warms my heart to see people enjoying what I put out there, mostly because I’m also helping them create memories that they can share with their family and friends.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First of all I would take them to experience one of my band gigs! I would take them to visit downtown Oceanside that has grown quite a bit and hang out and have a few drinks and maybe some food at one of the two new upscale hotels that are on the beachfront!
Maybe a day trip to Julian to hang out and maybe to the San Diego zoo.

The safari park is a whole new level and we could also make dinner reservations at the Watering hole. It has hands down the best view of the African plains, you can see herd animals, giraffes, and Rinos from your table.
The Oceanside Sunset Market is another cool spot on a Thursday night. You get to taste all kinds of food from different vendors! And they have live music!

For the weekend if you wanted to go dancing and great food I will take them to the Coyote bar and grill in Carlsbad! They have great bands there! And it can be an early night as the band starts at 6:00 p.m. till 10:00 p.m.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give a big shout out to my mom who inspired me and always told me I could do whatever I want and be whatever I want in life!

She always had my back and I knew that I could always depend on her to pick me up when I was down!

She is always in my heart and mind memories. They’ll never be anyone like my mom.
