Meet Christine Vanni | Director of the Fallbrook School of the Arts

We had the good fortune of connecting with Christine Vanni and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Christine, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
To stay organized, I write a ton of color-coded post-it notes that I adhere to a blank wall. This allows me to prioritize tasks and designate projects when needed.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The opportunity to be the Director at the Fallbrook School of the Arts presented itself during the challenges of the Covid shut down. I had to hit the ground running to come up with creative solutions to keep art classes available for the community. I learned that perseverance in the face of adversity is invaluable!
Everybody has a little artist in them and sometimes it just needs coaxing. I want everyone to take an art class at FSA so they can enjoy the creative process for themselves.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The first stop (after taking a class at the Fallbrook School of the Arts, of course) would be the Fallbrook Art Center to enjoy the current show and shop for incredible art in the gallery as well as their gift store, The Find. Then, we’d have a delicious lunch at Cafe Des Artistes (located inside the Fallbrook Art Center) and finish the day by viewing all the gorgeous art throughout Fallbrook by following the walking trail map for Art in Public Places.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I believe any success is attributed to a team of people. That being said, I owe an enormous amount of gratitude to my amazing staff – specifically, Sara and Ginna. These ladies keep me grounded, on task and always bring laughter to lighten a heavy day.
