We had the good fortune of connecting with Christina Davila and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christina, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
I am inspired by those who believe in me and continue to show support for my passion. In moments when I have doubt, it always amazes me how a community or single person could remind me of my WHY; why I show up, why I keep pressing forward, and why I choose to make a difference. More often than not, it’s a random moment of inspiration. Sometimes it’s something as simple as someone showing up to one of my fitness classes to create change and being vulnerable enough to say I’m nervous. Then before it’s all over, they are smiling. It may be small, but it’s a reminder to me that all the small moments add up. I am inspired by those who look to me for guidance because I am the first to admit I am looking for guidance too. I am inspired by the love people show me because, without love in our hearts, we are all lost.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a group fitness instructor and teach various styles of mobility. I first started this journey by taking my 200-hour Yoga teacher training because I wanted to get over my fear of public speaking. I was terrified of being seen. During the first few weeks of training, I cried publicly in front of my peers questioning if I had what it took to get through this training, but during this process, something started to change. I started believing in myself. I went into this training having no desire to teach and I finished discovering that I had a gift and an opportunity to help people just like me. People looking for a support system, people searching for guidance, people who simply just wanted to be seen.

Breaking the mindset that I was unworthy to be seen or to be loved was one of the toughest things I’ve ever done and it’s why I’m so passionate about helping those around me who have the same struggle. I remind people that growth is a lifelong journey and we are truly in it together. We all struggle, and we all have doubts, but if we embark on this together we can become stronger together. I remind people all the time that we are all beautifully imperfect, but that doesn’t make us unworthy of the life we all deserve.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am an outdoors girl through and through. Whether I’m in Colorado or California, I love to soak in all the beauty this world has to offer.

When in San Diago I love to show people the beauty of the ocean. La Jolla Cove has a glow that is breath taking. While in La Jolla I would take my best friend to one of my favorite group fitness studios F45. The community there is so inviting and know how to have a good time while working out.

After a good workout we’ll need to fuel our bodies with nutrients. Second Nature in the Pacific Beach area is one of my favorite spots. Weather its for brunch, lunch, or dinner, everything thing on their menu is delicious and nutritious.

While in PB, walking alone the boardwalk is a must. I love all the litte stores alone the walk and soaking in the community and culture will bring life to your soul.

Because I am a big lover of movement, I would also show my friend my favorite yoga studio which is also locationed in the PB area. Yoga Box will have you feeling so rejuvenated after class and you’ll defifinitely get a good sweat on.

For dinner I would take my friend to Sunset Cliff for a picnic. There we would watch a sunset that you have to witness in order to fulling understand how gorgeous a ocean sunset truly is. There I would also encorage my friend to take a moment to be still, silent, and manifest any goals they have. The view is so pure and the energy of Sunset Cliff will have you beliven that anything is possible.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
You know that saying, it takes a village to raise a child? Well, that statement could stand more true in my story.

Janelle Lynnae who I hired as my Confidence Coach back in 2018 lit a flame underneath my soul and installed a mindset in me that is everlasting. She gave me the tools to build myself up so that I could chase my passion fearlessly.

Every Studio I work with: Yoga Pod, Light and Liv, Girt, and Beautifully Savage. All of these communities have shaped me into the person I am today. I am forever grateful for their guidance, love, and support because they believed and saw something in me when I didn’t see or believe in myself.
