Meet Chris Honadle: Farm owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Honadle and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chris, how does your business help the community?
With the heightened anxiety of the covid 19 communities are looking for places to go locally to get there supplies. Here at Amor Mi Vida Farm has restructured our business to bring our goods that are produced on our property to the local community of Ramona.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ve learned that throughout our life you never know what the next day will bring, so you have to live it to the fullest and appreciate everything you have around you. Can’t take anything for granted. Throughout our life my husband and I have had many experiences that had to put us on a different path than when we were expecting and through all that we have learned to roll with the punches and make it the best we can. As a team we know how to protect and take care of each other when we need it the most and sometimes when we don’t realize we need it. Yes things have been difficult and I would like to change one or two of them, but each of them has made us who we are today. Our work life is our family life here on the farm.

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
Well if my BFF was coming to Ramona I would definitely have a big adventure plan for us. We would definitely have to hit up all the wineries here in the backcountry. That would take us a whole week just to get through them all. We would go through the back hills of Ramona venture up to saint Isabel stop at farm house 78 for an amazing lunch then up the road to the barn for some antiquing and vintage shopping and then just down the road we would stop at winola junction another amazing antique shop where we could spend hours getting lost. After that we’d probably be pretty thirsty have to go to the Julian hard cider and then make our way up into juliantown itself stop at Mom’s bakery for a piece of apple pie loop around Julian main Street maybe grab another piece of pie at Julian pie company, you can never have too much pie then back through Ramona to all the antique shops on main Street stop at marinade on main for lunch dinner or breakfast and then just enjoy old Ramona. Everyone in Julian and Ramona will have a smile on her face and greets you with a hello
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband Dave, my dreams are not always his dreams but he lets me fulfill them all. From all the alpacas to the chickens to my kune kune pigs he allows me to live my ultimate life here on the farm. We make the perfect team when it comes to our family and what we want to do here on the property.
