Meet Chevone Card | Content Creator | CEO Chevone + CO Marketing

We had the good fortune of connecting with Chevone Card and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chevone, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Someone recently asked me “how do you balance working from home, being a mom and being a wife?”
I had to really think about this because I didn’t have an answer to the question; at least not one I wanted to say out loud. If I were to be honest… it quite often feels like if I am succeeding in one aspect of my life then I am most certainly failing in another.
Being a work from home mom is tough (being a mom in general is tough). When you’re at home consistently, you don’t just focus on your work. You also have the mom and household chores staring back at you.
It’s easy (for me) to prioritize being a mom – especially working from home and my kids being four & two. They are at ages where they rely on mom for help and attention. I might be busy with work but if the kids need me, I stop and help them with whatever it may be. Due to having to flex my time, it feels like I am constantly on the move, balancing between motherhood and employee, then throw in the occasional house chore if my mental health and workload allows.
I have been feeling the burnout and realized I needed to start setting boundaries. I am hoping it will help me to turn off work mode and fall into family mode, self care mode, etc more efficiently and not leave me feeling like I am always “on the clock”.
Some boundary ideas I’m implementing are:
Set work hours. The hours for which I am available to my clients for the tasks they need me to complete.
Estimate the amount of time I spend on each task. This helps me ensure I am not spending too much one thing if there are complications out of my control or if I am waiting on communication from others. I do what I can do, move on and leave the rest for the next day.
Creating to do lists. Every morning I create checklists for what I absolutely have to complete during the work hours to stay on track with deadlines.
Being present and having more family time. Even if the family time is just us at home being lazy and watching a show we all like.
My boundaries don’t always go to plan but since I have started making my schedule a priority, my brain doesn’t feel as overwhelmed or tired. I am enjoying time with my family and creating memories by being present.

What should our readers know about your business?
For me, there are two different sides to Chevone + Co. There is Chevone + Co Content Creator and then there is Chevone + Co Marketing.
Chevone + Co Content Creator is where I partner with different brands and businesses to bring awareness to their products, sales, etc. I also share about life being a mom, living with anxiety, and life in general with a 4 and 2 year old.
Chevone + Co Marketing is a small marketing firm that specializes in Virtual Assisting, Virtual Business Management, Social Media PR, and Social Media Management. After I had my daughter in 2020 the option for me to return to the corporate office full time wasn’t feasible. Jason (my husband) and I decided that I would take my content creating on full time and I branched into creating my own marketing firm by taking the skills I had learned in the corporate world and from content creating to help others.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband, Jason has been my number one supporter. If it wasn’t for him I don’t think I would have ever started this journey.
