We had the good fortune of connecting with Chelsea Figueroa and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chelsea, what matters most to you?
Honesty, integrity, and commitment. To me, honesty and integrity go hand in hand. Those are really strong values to me. In my direct sales business, you work closely with people every single day, and there’s a lot of relationship building. I feel that trust is really important when building a team, and you can’t build that if there isn’t honesty and integrity. Integrity stems from doing the right thing, even when no one is looking. In my business, this is really important because people are watching everything we do and say so closely. Commitment to me is important because I want to work with people that have a strong why behind what they’re doing. If they’re committed, they know that they’re in it through the highs and lows, and we’re going to ride it out together.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m in a direct sales business, and am partnered with a Vegan brand called Monat. We specialize in haircare, skincare, and wellness. The beauty industry was never a place I saw myself, especially as a career. I mean I wore my hair up 80% of the time, and most days wear no makeup. How was I going to work in the beauty industry, and build a team? It all started 2 years ago when I decided to take better care of me. I invested in the products because my friend used them and I trusted her. I’ve been a frizz ball my whole life, so I honestly thought it would never change. Two years later, and everyday I fall more in love. I decided to take on the business opportunity because I knew I was meant for more. I knew that I wanted to change peoples lives. I’ve known since I was younger, that I was made to be an entrepreneur, I just didn’t have the right vehicle. I’m so thankful for all the failed businesses in the past, because ultimately it lead me here, and I know 100% I’m living in purpose, doing what God has called me to do. Our company is based on gratitude, and that’s one of my favorite things about it. We’re constantly giving back and reaching our hand to help others. It’s been a journey. Almost my 2 year anniversary and I can definitely say it’s had the highs and highs and the lows of lows. But the biggest lessons I’ve learned are two things: No matter how good of a person you are, people will always find something bad to say about you. Second, the negative intentions will never prevail, when you’re truly a good person and living in diving purpose.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love the whole boho vibe. So anywhere I can find dried florals, a neutral photo wall, and a cute boutique, I’m there. One of my favorite places to eat in Huntington Beach is Social. Everything from the food, drinks, interior design, and ambiance, is to die for. I also really love The Anaheim Packing District. A huge warehouse full of food, dessert, and cute decor. Also, totally kid friendly so I love that I can take my girls there. If we’re gonna go out to dinner for great food and drinks, and dress up, Javiers in Newport Beach is one of my all time favorite mexican spots. My favorite spots to visit in So Cal are definitely, Newport Beach, Malibu, San Diego, and of course LA.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband. I know it’s probably the typical response, right. But I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for his unconditional love and support. We met through a direct sales company, years ago. We’ve had many failed business in entrepreneurship, and there were many times we didn’t think we would make it to where we are today. Things weighed so heavy on us. We lost businesses, and got into massive debt. But one thing he always had was hope. He knew that we were meant for so much more, and that one day we would be sharing our story with others to bring light. So here we are today, doing that exact thing. He’s the one who encouraged me to take another chance at direct sales. He saw the vision before I did. He’s been my biggest supporter through all of the highs, and all of the lows. Times I wanted to give up, but he was there to push me. Never once did he complain about all the work I was putting in. Long nights, early mornings, because I’m exhausted. He kept pushing me, and that’s why we’re here today.
