We had the good fortune of connecting with Cara Grace Chadwick and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cara Grace, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Being an artist and creative has always been who I am. Creating art has been something I have always done, I was lucky to have a lot of encouragement about it from the start. My grandfather was an a professional artist and although he passed long before I was born, having him as an inspiration made choosing to work as an artist a natural path.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As a lifelong lover of nature, and especially horses, I try to bring that silent quality of spirit into my work. I have been a horseback rider all my life am so think that close relationship with horses has deeply impacted my work. Having that intimate relationship with horses helps me to convey them in a deep way.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Orange County is a paradise, there are so many wonderful spots!

Coffee at Bear Coast in San Clemente, a walk at Crystal Cove beach, a visit to my place of work—Hayden Clarke Sport Horse at the Nellie Gail Equestrian center, a wander through Laguna Beach, or Old Town San Juan Capistrano, with a peak into the Mission, Lunch at Trevor’s on The Tracks or at Olamendis Mexican, Dinner at South Of Nicks in San Clemente, and watching the sunset at Monarch Beach in Dana Point, So much more to explore still even after living in this area for 6yrs!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My whole family has always been supportive of my creativity. Both my mother and father have been priceless in their support, feedback and encouragement. My mother especially though. Her Farther, Lee Adam’s of Jacksonville Fl, was a botanical artist by profession. She also studied art and has great insight and advice on my work.
