We had the good fortune of connecting with Campluxe Cabovers and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Campluxe, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
We had previously founded a company within the industry and through that business we started to understand the full spectrum of affordability and needs. We learned what the staple amenities are that a customer needs when they’re off roading/over landing. We felt the need to bring a camper to the market that has all of these amenities at an affordable cost. Typically a van build can cost upward of $100k+ and bringing Campluxe cabovers to life allowed us to offer a unit with all the same amenities at a $40k price range. It just made sense.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We’re proud to bring to market one of the most quality built campers. The only unibody fiberglass aluminum reinforced shell which means no leaks, exceptional strength, and durability. Not only that but we are utilizing all the highest quality components you’d find in any $250k 4×4 sprinter build. I would say business isn’t really ever “easy” but because of the lessons we’ve learned with our first company we haven’t hit too many crazy hurdles or obstacles. In our industry you have to be very transparent about pricing and quality of your product, which we are.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would definitely take them out and about in a Campluxe Cabover! If it was a week long trip we’d take them to our favorite spots to eat like – Royal Rooster, OB Noodle House, any Italian spot in Little Italy, the Little Lion Cafe, The Joint, Fig Tree Cafe, and Tajima Ramen, Oscars tacos,…I mean we could answer this entire question in just food places.
We would definitely have to catch a few sunset cocktails at El Prez or Wonderland! Those are some top notch viewing spots.
We love to visit places like Balboa Park, Coronado, Old Town, La Jolla Shores, and Sunset cliffs!
Hanging out on some paddle boards in the bay or riding bikes on the boardwalk are some really fun activities also. And of course you gotta hit up the Paddle Pub,
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Because Campluxe Cabovers stemmed from our original company we owe a HUGE thanks to our supporters and followers for encouraging us to offer them this option. We did a lot of polls and market research prior to officially launching and we got such a great response. Our families and team also deserve a huge shoutout. They have been behind us every step of the way.
And shoutout to our friends and fellow colleagues in the industry who allowed us to continually bounce ideas off of them and help in some big decisions.
