Meet Camille Sowinski | Managing Partner of BCK Programs

We had the good fortune of connecting with Camille Sowinski and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Camille, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
BCK Programs, LLC developed organically. As a parent with an environmental law degree, I felt uniquely qualified to help the school and school district my children attended with developing more sustainable business practices while at the same time creating enrichment lessons that could lead to real and meaningful changes for the community.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
BCK Programs is part environmental consultant and part environmental education providers. We stand apart from other companies and organizations by introducing students as young as first graders into the real world dynamics of environmental policy. We harness their passion for environmental improvements to help them make real and lasting changes to the way their school, school district or community handles pressing climate issues.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My perfect day would be to hike Torrey Pines, grab a bite to eat at the Stratford Cafe and then try to watch a San Diego Loyals Soccer game (if they are playing in town).

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Would love to dedicate this shoutout to hardworking professionals at BCK Programs. A group of nine amazing women with skills ranging from engineering to marine biology. We have educators, master gardeners, master composters and scientists on our team. They all add valuable input to our programming.
