Meet Brooke Delong | Head of Social Media and Content

We had the good fortune of connecting with Brooke Delong and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brooke, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The thought process behind starting my own business was deeply personal and tied to my college experience. I got the name BDL while working at hockey, and it became more than just a nickname—it became a part of my identity. By the end of my senior year, I had grown so used to being called BDL that I almost forgot my actual name was Brooke. It felt right to carry that name forward as a brand because it represents not only my time in college but all the people, experiences, and memories I’ve collected along the way.
I even got “BDL” tattooed as a reminder of those years, so when it came time to think about a brand name, there was no hesitation. The brand is more than just a business to me—it’s a symbol of growth, passion, and the friendships that have shaped me. That’s why I knew I had to build something around it, to give it life beyond just a college nickname.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
BDL, my brand, is a reflection of everything I’m passionate about—creativity, authenticity, and bold self-expression. It’s about merging different worlds, creating a lifestyle that embraces individuality and stands out with eye-catching designs. What sets BDL apart is its unique fusion of lifestyle and fashion, designed for anyone who wants to make a statement through what they wear. I’m most excited about how we incorporate elements that resonate with people’s passions while pushing the boundaries of fresh, new styles.
Getting to where I am today wasn’t easy, but it’s been incredibly rewarding. I’ve faced the typical challenges of starting a brand—finding my voice, establishing credibility, and learning the ins and outs of the industry. But it’s through those struggles that I’ve grown the most. I’ve learned that resilience, adaptability, and surrounding yourself with the right people are crucial to success. My experience working with different teams and creative minds gave me invaluable insight into how to build a brand from the ground up.
What I want the world to know about BDL is that it’s not just a brand—it’s a movement for those who want to combine passion, creativity, and self-expression in everything they do. My journey is still evolving, and I’m committed to continuing to create something that inspires others to express themselves without limits.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to a few key people and experiences that have shaped my journey. First, my parents, for their unwavering support and belief in me. My time with Arizona Hockey was pivotal in helping me discover my passion, and I’m deeply grateful for that. I also want to thank the Monochrome team for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to grow my career. Lastly, my friends and family—thank you for always being there and cheering me on every step of the way.
