Meet Bree Torti | Hair stylist & Life Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Bree Torti and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bree, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
First i would like to thank you for taking the time again for this interview on my little salon suite small business it means a lot to me.
As a salon suite owner and hairstylist, I’ve adopted several habits that have been instrumental in my success, especially while navigating the demands of my profession alongside my passion for wellness and nature. Here are some key habits that have helped me thrive:
1. Prioritizing Self-Care I make it a point to incorporate self-care into my daily routine. This includes regular exercise, healthy recipes, and mindfulness practices like meditation or yoga. Diving into healing from within with my Chinese Dr and Acupuncturist Taking care of my body has been crucial in managing the physical demands of hairstyling.
2. Nature Breaks I schedule time into my schedule to spend outdoors with my pup and fiancé. Whether it’s hiking, walking in the park, or simply enjoying a quiet moment in nature, these breaks rejuvenate me and help reduce stress, allowing me to return to work with a fresh mindset.
3. Setting Boundaries I’ve learned to set clear boundaries between work and personal life. This ensures that I have dedicated time to recharge and enjoy my relationships outside the salon, which contributes to my overall well-being.
4. Building a Like-Minded Clientele I focus on attracting clients who share similar values and interests. Engaging with like-minded individuals not only makes my work more enjoyable but also fosters a positive atmosphere in the salon, enhancing the overall experience for both myself and my clients.
5. Continual Learning I stay updated on the latest trends and wellness practices in the beauty industry. This not only aids in providing top-notch services but also keeps me on my toes, passionate about my work, allowing me to share knowledge with my clients and enrich our conversations.
6. Creating a Welcoming Environment I’ve cultivated a warm and inviting salon space that reflects my personality and values. This makes clients feel at home, encouraging genuine connections and fostering loyalty. I look at it like a sanctuary to relax and unwind, and share some laughs.
7. Mindful Scheduling I carefully plan my appointments to avoid burnout. By allowing adequate time between clients, I can maintain a high level of energy and focus, which translates into better service and deeper connections.
By implementing these habits, I’ve found a fulfilling balance between my career as a stylist and my commitment to wellness, allowing me to thrive both personally and professionally!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As a hairstylist and salon owner, my art is about creating personalized, transformative experiences for clients. What sets me apart is my focus on individuality and building a welcoming community. My journey wasn’t easy—I faced challenges like building a clientele and managing a business. Key lessons include the importance of adaptability and resilience. I’m proud of the community I’ve fostered and my commitment to ongoing education. My brand is about authenticity and empowering clients to feel confident and beautiful!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I actually have curated a locals San Diego itinerary for my clients that are new to the area as I am such a foodie and love exploring new spots that continually open.
I’ll speak on the season so it’s more fitting so since it’s fall/ winter time on day 1. We would go up into the mountain in Julian for some apple pie and apple picking, pumpkin patch, and it truly has seasons so it’s a nice little 1.5 hr trip out of the city and into the mountains.
Day 2. Go check out the Encinitas botanical garden Christmas light theme, eat at one of my favorite restaurants close by Waverly , end it at a fun Christmas theme bar one that does a great job every year is polite provisions.
Day 3 . Cozy beach / fire pit sunset , end with going to a fun bar in Del Mar called Monarch.
Day 4. Morning hike at Torrey Pines, hit up a spa day near by called estancia , evening diner that is so fun and theme called barberella.
Day 5. Of course our zoo is so impressive so if new to the area that’s a must see, evening din get fancy and dolled up with live jazz music and captivating 360 views of San Diego go to Mr . As
Day 6. Explore going up the coast on highway 1. Hit up all the cute little beach towns. Make it fun .
Day 7. See if somethings playing at the Rady Shell along the waterfront. Such a beautiful venue.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shoutout to my clients for keeping my little salon suite business alive and thriving, my parents and fiancé for always supporting me in my business and being my cheerleaders in life; and my mentor Christine who always lights me up as I share my ideas with no judgment but only excitement.
