Meet Breaunna Lake | Marketer & Actor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Breaunna Lake. She is a San Diego naive, award-winning actor, and marketer. We’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Breaunna, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
One of my favorite quotes is from Maya Angelou, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” This is such a powerful reminder of the importance of empathy and connection in our interactions with others. This sentiment is particularly relevant in the context of creating wonderful working relationships with cast, crew, and all areas of production in this industry.
When working on a production, it is crucial to remember that the success of the project depends not only on technical skill and artistic vision, but also on the human connections and collaborations that are formed. By approaching each interaction with kindness, respect, and an open heart, you can create an environment where everyone feels valued and supported, and where creative ideas can flow freely.
But it’s not just about the relationships behind the scenes. As a performer, it is essential to keep in mind the impact that your work will have on the audience. A moving performance can leave a lasting impression on those who witness it, touching their hearts and minds in a way that mere words or actions cannot.
Ultimately, it speaks to the enduring power of human connection, both on and offstage. By prioritizing empathy and authenticity in our interactions with others, we can create meaningful and impactful work that resonates with audiences long after the final curtain has fallen.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
For many people, pursuing a career in the arts or creative fields is more than just a job – it’s a calling. From a young age, there is often an innate desire to express oneself and create something beautiful, something that resonates with others on a deep and emotional level. For me, this is exactly what drew me to the world of creativity and the arts.
As a child, I found myself constantly drawn to the arts, from performing monologues for my family to creating marketing materials for my babysitting business. As I grew older, my passion for the arts only intensified, and I found myself studying film production and on-camera work in high school.
When I entered college at SDSU, I decided to pursue marketing, and I soon realized that my true passion lay in finding a way to integrate my love for the arts with my marketing skills. It was in a class on multimedia marketing that I had a revelation – I could leverage my skills in both marketing and entertainment to create a fulfilling life that allowed me to work both on the client side and the talent side.
Now, as someone who works both as a marketing professional and as a performer, I feel incredibly fortunate to be able to pursue my creative passions in multiple ways. For me, creativity is not just a hobby or a fleeting interest – it’s a fundamental part of who I am, and I’m grateful every day to be able to channel that energy into my work. Whether I’m crafting a marketing strategy or delivering a powerful performance, I know that I’m following my heart and pursuing a life that truly fuels my soul.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
San Diego is a city full of vibrant culture, scenic beauty, and an incredible food scene. Here’s a week long itinerary for a trip that I personally think includes some of the most fun, interesting, and exciting people, places, and things to check out in San Diego.
Day 1: Start your day with breakfast at Breakfast Republic, a local favorite known for their creative twists on breakfast classics. Afterward, head over to Little Italy for their farmers market on Saturday. You’ll find everything from fresh produce to handmade crafts, and it’s a great way to experience the community.
Day 2: If you’re looking for a spiritual experience, head to Self Realization Fellowship for meditation and service on Sunday. It’s a serene setting that’s perfect for mindfulness and relaxation. Afterward, take a yoga class at Trilogy, Sojourn, or on the beach followed by a meal at Kindred, a vegan restaurant that serves up delicious and creative plant-based dishes. You have to try their butterscotch pancakes!
Day 3: For an adventure-packed day, take a kayak tour of the caves in La Jolla. The scenic coastline and natural beauty of the area make for a truly memorable experience. Afterward, grab a coffee at Better Buzz, known for its great coffee and relaxed atmosphere and dinner and drinks at Mothership for some very unique and eccentric space-themed immersive dining experience.
Day 4: Explore Seaport Village, a charming waterfront district that’s home to a variety of shops, restaurants, and attractions. For lunch or dinner, head to Puesto, where you can enjoy delicious Mexican food in a festive atmosphere.
Day 5: For some outdoor fun, hike Torrey Pines or Potato Chip Rock, both of which offer stunning views of the surrounding landscape. If you’re up for a challenge, try the Potato Chip Rock hike, which is known for its steep ascent and unique photo opportunity.
Day 6: Ride bikes along the beach at Coronado Island and explore the iconic Hotel Del, a historic beachfront resort that’s been a favorite of celebrities and world leaders for over a century.
Day 7: Finally, end your trip with some of the best vegan food in the city. Check out Plumeria, Tacotarian, the Purple Mint, Donna Jean, The Plot, The Yasai, or El Avocado, where you can enjoy delicious plant-based dishes in a variety of cuisines.
San Diego truly has something for everyone, and this itinerary is just a small sample of the many fun, interesting, and exciting things to do in the city. Whether you’re a foodie, a nature lover, or a spiritual seeker, San Diego has it all.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are several individuals that deserve recognition for all their help in getting me to where I am today.
First and foremost, I would like to dedicate my shout-out to my dad, Mike Lake. He has been my biggest cheerleader and always supporting me in all aspects of life.

I’ve worked with so many wonderful San Diego filmmakers, actors, teachers, and coaches that have provided me opportunities to level up my skills and be part of some amazing projects.
