We had the good fortune of connecting with Bobby Schuman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bobby, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
When you can move from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm, that is true success.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We are the best holiday and event lighting company west of the Mississippi. We rise above the competition with our ingenious style and customer service. We always leave our clients happy. We also have the best looking and hardest working staff around. Our staff consists of a former professional athlete, a personal trainer, a lead singer, and a Miss California USA contestant. All we do while hanging lights is complain and yell at each other. What more can you ask for with your lighting company?

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First, I would take someone visiting San Diego to the circus by visiting Supervisor Nathan Fletcher and his lovely wife who has a different last name, Lorena Gonzalez. You can always count on those two brainiacs to put on a well thought out and well-planned show that benefits everyone. Next, I would take them to see all the homeless people downtown that Todd Gloria has allowed to block the sidewalks. Watching all the kids who now have to walk in the street to get to school is truly a sight to be seen. Mayor Gloria is on his way to fill the shoes of our freedom-loving Governor Gavin Newsom, so it is always fun to see the progress he is making before he makes the move to Sacramento. To top off this exciting week, we would go to any elementary school in San Diego Unified to see all the young children that Board Member Richard Barrera forced to mask for two years. If anyone is lucky enough to have an opportunity to see the genius of his ideas in person, they should take advantage of it! Who knows what a great mind like Richard Barrera will think of next!


Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to thank Joe Biden for making it much more expensive to run our business. We love a challenge and President Biden makes everything more challenging. I would also like to thank Anthony Fauci, without his honesty and transparency over the past few years who knows where we would be? He is a true man of honor and integrity that everyone should look up to. Lastly, we would like to thank our clients over the years who have not been happy with our work, oh wait, they don’t exist…
