We had the good fortune of connecting with Bianca Lopez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bianca, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk taking is what has me here today. If we don’t take risk, we don’t grow, we don’t challenge ourselves, we don’t elevate. I’m comfortable with risk taking because I believe in myself. I am my number one fan and my toughest critic, but by strong faith makes risk taking comfortable because I know what’s meant for me will come to me. I don’t get emotional when my risks “fail” or don’t work out because it wasn’t my timing. I don’t want any blessing that aren’t meant for me. You can’t go into any situation especially business doubting yourself. Take risk, be uncomfortable and be your number one fan. Not even the skies the limit.

What should our readers know about your business?
My business was created from a space of healing and love for gemstones. As a kid I was in love and fascinated with rocks. I would read books, go rock hunting and collect. As I grew older society steered me away from my first passion, but my love for them never left. Fast forward to 2019. I have endured pain, sacrifice, motherhood, health issues, and almost losing my mother to a brain aneurysm. I was in a place where I needed to heal my mind, body and spirit. I realized tomorrow is not promised. I couldn’t imagine not fulfilling my true self. Crystals came back into my life. They give me an escape, peace and brought back that feeling of when I was a child. I realized they are so beneficial to me that I would love to share them with others. I not only love the healing properties, but the petrology, mineralogy, the science, the history behind them is fascinating. My faith is strong, and I don’t block my blessings. I try my best to follow my path and go with my gut. I’ve had different jobs in my life, but nothing was making me happy or in alignment with how I saw my family’s future. I didn’t want to spend my life just “working” or losing myself in the role of a mother. So, follow my gut is what I did. Things fell in alignment for me in 2020, and I created Elevated Magic. It was a risk considering the world had just entered a pandemic and starting a business wasn’t the most logical idea. I felt more than ever our world needed more light and healing. I truly believe this is what I’m here to do. I took the leap and started, and everything has fallen beautifully into place. I even take the setbacks as blessings. Elevated Magic is not “work” for me. I love to do this. This is not only for me it’s for my children. I’m bringing joy, happiness and healing to people. It’s important for me to show my children and others that you can change people’s lives or bring them happiness by fulfilling your own. What sets me, Bianca Lopez apart from other people is, I don’t give up. I don’t look at other people’s opportunities with envy I don’t want what’s not meant for me. What sets Elevated Magic apart from other gemstone business’s is, I take pride in finding the most beautiful crystals, gemstones and minerals. I hand pick each piece. Finding unique one a kind pieces is important to me. I like to buy as directly from the source as possible and I’m knowledgeable in where they are coming from. I study each piece and the rarity is what I’m attracted to. To know you own a rare gemstone formed under earth for centuries and brought to you with minimal handling in between is amazing and special. So, weather you want healing vibes or a beautiful statement piece in your home Elevated Magic is here for you.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am born and raised in San Diego. Experiencing what San Diego has to offer is an amazing experience. Since we are a family our fav spots are family friendly. Here are my suggestions if you’re visiting the best city in the world. Food is my favorite so let’s start there. San Diego is known for its Mexican food so I would direct you to Barrio Logan where some of my favs are located.

Las Cuatro Milpas- Authentic Mexican food located in Barrio Logan. Great stop for breakfast/lunch. Always delicious, you can tell by the line outside. don’t let it scare you away it moves quickly and so worth it! Not to mention really affordable.

The Mission- Breakfast/ Lunch On mission Blvd. Your one street away from the water. Love how the food taste amazing but is also health conscious.

Salud Tacos- located in Barrio Logan. From the decor to the food to the drinks! Salud representation of Chicano culture is delivered nicely. Nothing better than tacos and micheladas on a cool San Diego afternoon.

Ruths Chris- Located on the harbor. Beautiful view, amazing steaks and lobster mac n cheese. My go to for a high-end dinner. you can also walk the harbor enjoy the ocean breeze or visit The Star of India a sailing ship from 1863 turned museum.

Fuel Thy Cells- A local small business located in La Mesa on University Ave. San Diegos first sea moss shop and juice Bar. Stop by to get a refresher and a snack. This business promotes health and wellness in the community which I absolutely love. And the owners are amazing!

Best spots to visit
Beach- I love to clear my mind and relax at any of the local beaches. Our family favorite is la Jolla tide pools. This beach is so beautiful and has amazing views. While you’re in la Jolla you can explore all the shops.

The New Childrens Museum- My kids love it! all the art and fun activities can keep my kids busy all day! They have age-appropriate activities and play areas along with a snack bar to take a break and recharge.

Local pop-up shops- There are so many pop ups happening all around San Diego every weekend. They are perfect to explore new foods and support local businesses. Family friendly, eat, drink and shop.

Old Town- One of my childhood favorite places to go. Interesting and fun to experience. Learn a little history of San Diego while enjoying great food, shopping, historic sights and museums. You can also find some haunted sites like the Whaley House. (Which is pretty famous)

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family is my amazing support system. My fiancé and kids have supported me throughout this journey. I have been a stay-at-home mom for about 6 years. When I brought the idea of starting my own business, they were all just excited and happy for me. We all didn’t know where it would take us or how it would change our lives, but it was so reassuring having my family on board with me. They help me any way they can and help run day to day operations. You’ll find them with me at our pop ups on the weekends, crystal hunting with me and they give me creative energy that influences Elevated Magic. My fiancé has supported me every step of the way and put extra energy into the family when I had to focus on business. I trust them because we’re all in this together. We all want the best for each other.

I also have been blessed with meeting other amazing entrepreneurs and customers along the way. I didn’t know or didn’t expect the support of the community. How strangers could shine light on you and bring you amazing opportunities. When you are true to yourself and craft you attract positive people. Without people taking a chance on Elevated Magic we wouldn’t be able to be where we are today.
