We had the good fortune of connecting with Beth Sando Komulainen and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Beth, what matters most to you?
Showing up, and giving it your all. I believe in life there are so many distractions and you can easily push things aside, reschedule meetings, etc. I am at fault for this in the beginning of my career, however when I started always showing up and giving it my best shot, my business has sky rocketed. Fear, and uncomfortable situations cause us to miss chances and never know what could have been created by just showing up.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a business development manager at First American Title, the number one title company in San Diego. However, it did not happen overnight. I was at three different title companies prior to landing at First American. In the real estate industry, everything is evolving and change is inevitable. I love representing for First American Title. However, I am a believer that I could work at any title company and still excel; as relationships and good service is a priority in this industry and over the 10 years of working in title my clients have become my family. I feel blessed with being able to work with the people I love. An additional bonus is that I work alongside three incredible woman: Stacy Thorne, Lexi Hutchings and Nikki Lam. We all take work seriously and we all give 110%. I believe having a great team is so important and being able to count on each other and being each others accountability-partners is huge! The four of us have different strengths and all add something of value to each and every one of our clients. We treat all of our clients the same and make sure we listen to their needs and execute accordingly. We are constantly thinking of new ways to help them grow their business, and researching the newest and latest applications, tips and tricks to accomplish their goals. I am proud to say that although our team has only been together for two years, we were number one in growth for 2020. We are just getting started and the possibilities are endless! This industry has taught me a lot, such as realizing everyone approaches situations differently and that is okay. At the end of the day I can only control my actions and the rest is out of my control.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
San Diego is amazing for all that it has to offer and all of the amazing restaurants, hidden gems, parks, and the ocean! Our favorite spot in SD is of course, where Greg and I got married, Scripps Seaside Forum. Scripps Seaside Forum is a stunning venue, and when there aren’t events going on, its the perfect place for a picnic; extra special for Greg and I. On top of the grass area, there is a cute café looking out at the water called Caroline’s Seaside Café, must grab a coffee and breakfast there.. so cute! Our second favorite spot in SD is what we call our backyard, Kate sessions Park. We live two blocks from this park and LOVE the views of the ocean, downtown San Diego, and so much more! During Covid Kate Sessions has been a go-to to meet with friends and have enough space to stay safe! Food- so much good food in San Diego, but our favorite Italian restaurant is right here in Pacific Beach, Enoteca Adriano – must go! We also love Catania in La Jolla for their flat bread, salads, and view! (I guess you could say we love Italian food!) We love Balboa park, so much to see there and we love the pub right in the middle of the park! Coronado definitely has a place in my heart, its just so beautiful and knowing you are on an island gives it even more charm! We love the Hotel Del and the new patio they recently built.. so much space and right on the ocean, just stunning!! Little Italy has some great spots, North Park/South Park/Kensington all have hidden gems, and La Jolla and Pacific Beach will always remind us of those college days and life long memories! My husband and I never dreamed we would own a home in North Pacific Beach.. we LOVE our neighborhood!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband, Greg Komulainen, My dad Tony Sando, and my sisters Aimee and Stacy, My favorite books that I always go back to are The Power of Positive Thinking, Daring Greatly, and How to stop worrying and Start Living.
