We had the good fortune of connecting with Belle Morelock and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Belle, how do you think about risk?
I think bravery is critical to following your dreams.I can’t imagine my life without it. It had gotten me through the hardest times in my life. I take risks by trying new things and saying yes to every new opportunity. When I first started dj-ing I was so scared I would shake! But as I got comfortable it became so fun. I was really grateful I stuck with it.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have always been extremely passionate about music. Growing up in San Diego was so inspiring to me.
When I tried dj-ing something in my bones knew I wanted to stick with it. I believe music creates connection and relatability. And I believe dancing is a beautiful language itself. To bring people together is something special. That’s why I love to dj. It wasn’t easy to get started, it’s a job that requires you to really step out of your comfort zone and self market. I definitely haven’t achieved my dreams quite yet so still working on that!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite San Diego gem is a breakfast restaurant called Morning Glory. The fluffy pancakes is a must. Seaport Village also holds a special place in my heart.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to thank my mentor Kristi Jones and also my Dj Teacher Rebecca ( @mystique.dj ) for inspiring me. Also my best friend who means the world to me and spent hours listening to me learning how to make music.
