We had the good fortune of connecting with Baxter Colburn and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Baxter, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When it came to starting my own business, I knew that I had to focus on a few very simple but important factors. How can I make money to provide for my family? What would I enjoy doing on a consistent basis and what was the best use of the skills that God had provided me.

After working in corporate America for almost 10 years, I knew that it was time to make the jump into starting my own business. I ran my business as a side hustle for almost 4 years, and finally had the opportunity to make the jump full-time, and I’m so glad that I did, and I will never look back.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’m most proud of the fact that my company has grown substantially over the last five years. This company was not started to be a full-time business, but to help me while I was getting divorced, and the extra funds were desperately needed. Now that it’s transitioned into my full-time working income, it has allowed me to pay not only myself, but also multiple employees to help our clients at a high level every day.

To say that my journey has been easy, would be an understatement, but given the fact that I’ve had an incredible support system from my family and friends and truly some of the best clients I could ask for, I really have no regret and no way of saying that this was not meant to be in my life at the time that it was. God truly had a plan and I’m so grateful that he brought this into my life at the perfect time.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m based in Green Bay, WI so when somebody comes to the Midwest, we always have to go and check out any place that has cheese curds or great local beer, as well as some of the amazing parks and areas that we have in this space. Not to mention a day trip to Door County is never to be beat.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d love to dedicate this shout-out to my wife and my family. They’ve been incredibly supportive since day one, and I would not be where I am now if they hadn’t been with me along this journey.
