We had the good fortune of connecting with Austin Marc and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Austin, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
I definitely feel like I am most inspired when I am NOT making music. I’m the most eager to work on new stuff when I make time away from it. Things like biking through Central Park, going to the movies, hanging at coffee shops. Anything that gets me out of the apartment brings me motivation to get back in and work.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Production wise, I will always be the most excited about the music I am ABOUT to make, not the music that I’ve done in the past. Finishing the music I made today and starting up on new ideas for tomorrow will always be priority #1 for me creatively.. Having said that, I am proudest of some of the solo guitar stuff I’ve made like “Tuesday” or maybe some of the remixes that people really responded to.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There are some great little coffee shops on the Upper West Side. A cup of coffee and a walk through the park is undefeated. If you’re in Brooklyn though, there’s “Winner”. makes a helluva Italian sandwich and you can walk towards the top of Prospect Park and sit on a bench and catch up.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The people that genuinely enjoy my music and listen intently and make it a point to come to my shows when I DJ. Let’s shout those people out. It’s cliché, but I wouldn’t be able to work on music full time unless there were other people that were as enthusiastic about the music as me. So shout out to them.
