Meet Ashlie Churchill | User Generated Content Creator | Organic & Paid Ads Specialist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashlie Churchill and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashlie, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I’ve always been a Type A, hyper-organized type of person, but my passions & hobbies were all creative. After trying careers that highlighted my more logical skills (and not enjoying it), I knew I needed to find a space that could offer me both the logic and the creativity. And the best way to do that was to create it myself. Working in the User Generated Content space gives me the opportunity to capitalize on my admin skills, while still flexing those creative muscles to create unique visuals and stories.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As a User Generated Content creator, my work focuses on strategic content creation for brands of all shapes and sizes. I create social-focused videos that my clients use to attract new customers, build communities, and most importantly, drive sales. UGC has become quite a “trendy” career move in the past few years, which is why going above and beyond for my brands has always been at the core of my work. This space is filled with people who can create aesthetic content, but I set myself apart by truly understanding audience needs and how to speak to them in a way that will get them to take action.
It wasn’t easy to build a successful business in this space. Social media and audience behavior online evolve so quickly, that it takes a constant finger on the pulse to stay ahead of the curve. With every new video I create for my clients, I ask the question – “how can we connect with our target audience even more, and get them to take more action?” I really believe this growth mindset has been key to my success.
Additionally, as someone who is currently working through severe chronic illness – leaning into my unique story has been important to me, not just to educate others on what life looks like when you’re dealing with a disability, but because I have a story to tell that I believe can inspire others.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh I love this question! I’m a North County girl, so I’ve got some gems:
– Start the day with coffee and breakfast at Achilles Coffee Roasters in Carmel Valley
– Go hear a message at Venture Church in Encinitas
– Head down to Del Mar Dog Beach to get some ocean air (and play with the cute puppies)
– Late lunch at Nectarine Grove
– Watch the sunset at Gliderport
– Grab dinner at Lana in Solana Beach
As a major foodie, coffee-lover, and dog-obsessed person, this would be my dream weekend day.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Building my own business has taught me that you need a community to succeed. There’s not one person who can give you all the advice or guidance you need – it truly takes a tribe surrounding you to stay motivated, inspired, and constantly learning. For me, that includes mentors in creative strategy who can teach me, peers in social media who can inspire me, and a strong support system of friends and family who encourage me to chase after my dreams! Having such a positive community is a blessing, but has also been key to my success in User Generated Content.
