We had the good fortune of connecting with Armon Behbahany and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Armon, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
My end goal is leave a footprint in the fitness industry, specifically personal training. I want to be amongst one the most impactful personal trainers and help create better personal trainers to ultimately raise the importance of this career.

At the end of my career I want to have transformed as many clients as I possibly could mentally and physically. I also want to succeed in my mission in the longevity of fitness. I want to see people falling in love and addicted to working out and chasing the feeling of bettering themselves day by day. I want fitness to have allowed themselves to really witness what they are capable of outside of the gym. From big names to small names, I want to be recognized as one of the best personal trainers in the world.
At the end of my career, I also want to see my clothing brand ‘’Ambition’, also known as “AMB,” be one of the most successful clothing brands out there. It is a representation of the passion I carry for this career and I would love to influence everyone out there to be ambitious with the things they love, fitness related or not.
I believe personal training is vital for everyones health and keeping everyone strong, healthy and away from the doctor is the end goal.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart of my business is that I try to not make it feel like one. This shouldn’t feel like a job. Personal training is a position I love waking up to and I want clients to recognize that. I really value a clients ability to show up to our session. And during a session, every set counts to me. I want them knowing they have my full attention and always feel like like they got more than what they paid for.
At the beginning of my career I wasn’t making much. Heck, even some sessions I had to service for free. Fast forward almost 10 years later, I am now charging 4x the amount of what I used to with galleries of transformations.
Was it easy, no. Did it take a while, yes, just like everything in life. I had to move up the rankings through experience and time. I was the only trainer at my facility with transformations on the wall.

Not gonna lie, when covid happened, I almost doubted myself as a successful trainer. It was a scary decision moving out from the corporate world to becoming independent but I finally did it and I have my uncle to thank for the push.
I found a private gym, known as Self Made, and my clients were loyal enough to come with me. From Long Beach to the OC, I created another reputation for myself and earned the ability to create more.
A lesson I learned was to study what works for you and really make sure you love what you’re doing. We all work differently and experience has been the best teacher for me.
I had to do this for a long time to get to where I’m at and there were no short cuts. Making a name for yourself involves time and effort. If you’re not where you want to be in your career just be patient and make sure you are doing everything it takes to be best. We can all be a master of ANY craft. Just depends what you want.
I realized this when I came across a popular instagram account for a person who services clippers. yes, clippers for hair.
He had a huge following and was stacked with business. This proved that we can be the best at anything no matter how weird it sounds.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting I would take them to Huntington Beach to catch some sun and rent out a few bikes for the day. And since I’m a huge foodie, I would take them to a few restaurants around including Red O, North Italia and The Ranch.
Then we would probably explore the nightlife and hit a popular club in the heart of LA with a famous DJ playing.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shoutout the first manager I ever had in my field, Eden Paul. Working with Eden at Gold’s Gym really sparked my potential. It was the first time in my life where a manager was more of a mentor and leader. It didn’t feel like I was working for her. It felt like I was working with her. And that’s what separates a great manager to me. She pushed me to become the highest paid tier of personal training which eventually led me to become the highest ranked trainer within the company. All those hours of training clients and education eventually paid off.
She taught me to take care for the gym like a home and really care about the persons goal. It wasn’t just business with Eden. It was very personal and we became a family at our gym with our staff and our clients.

I also want to thank my aunt, Mina. She was one of the few who supported my love for bodybuilding. Without her I wouldn’t have created a passion to make a career out of this. She was the first person to support my competitive life within the sport and was always there when my prep got difficult. I can’t explain enough how important a support system is within a persons life and I am very fortunate to have her.
