We had the good fortune of connecting with Armida Mendez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Armida, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
You have to always believe in yourself and never let others change your views and values. Opinions and constructive criticism are always welcome, but they don’t have to define your future and your plans. At the end of the day, it is your creation and no one knows better what’s best then yourself.

What should our readers know about your business?
Accento was born from the love and passion I have for design. I’ve been Lucky enough to meet /partner up with amazing talented people throughout my journey. Part of the satisfaction I get from my work is obviously creating beautiful spaces, but I also love the feeling of going thru the process with the clients, I know it can sometimes be stressful, but nothing compares with the feeling of seeing them happy and realizing that it was worth it…or when they call me excited to let me know that they had visitors and they had amazing compliments…. also, I always end up becoming friends with them, so it’s a win win!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I can think of a lot of amazing places, both San Diego and Mexico. If it’s for a weekend, I would take them to valle de Guadalupe. There is amazing food, obviously great wine, great boutique hotels…. we can have an amazing time in valle
