Meet Ariel / Vanessa Bergstrom / Rosales | Treatment Coordinator & Entrepreneur / Marketing Coordinator & Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ariel / Vanessa Bergstrom / Rosales and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ariel / Vanessa, do you have a budget? How do you make lifestyle and spending decisions?
Yes, we have a budget for SoCal Soirées, which has been essential for managing our side business effectively. In the beginning, it was very challenging because you don’t break even for a while, and the initial investments can feel daunting. However, we quickly learned that maintaining good financial habits is key to running a business successfully.
Since both my partner and I work full-time in the healthcare industry, we’ve developed a disciplined approach to both personal and business finances. We allocate a portion of our earnings to reinvest in the business—whether it’s for supplies, marketing, or upgrades to enhance client experiences—while ensuring we maintain a healthy balance with our personal financial goals.
When it comes to lifestyle and spending decisions, we focus on prioritizing what truly adds value to our lives. SoCal Soirées was born out of our desire to have fun while creating a source of income, and we’ve been intentional about keeping it sustainable and enjoyable. By setting clear financial goals and staying consistent with our budgeting habits, we ensure we’re making decisions that support our long-term vision while still enjoying the process.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Our business is a blend of two passions: supporting people in the healthcare industry and creating unforgettable experiences through event planning and design. What sets us apart is our dedication to combining our customer service expertise with creativity to offer personalized experiences. What I’m most proud of is how we’ve grown both parts of the business and how they complement each other, allowing us to bring a unique perspective to every project.
Both my business partner and I recognize that our business is still a work in progress, and we have an immense amount of growing to do. We’ve learned that owning a business is a lot of hard work—much more than we initially anticipated! There were a lot of things we didn’t learn in college, like the complexities of opening an LLC and managing financials through QuickBooks. We had to teach ourselves these things along the way. While it wasn’t always easy, we enjoy the process because we love what we do. The learning curve has been challenging, but it keeps our minds active, and we know that learning and adapting are key to growing our business.
Ultimately, what we want the world to know about this brand is that we are passionate about what we do, and we’re committed to continuously improving. This journey has been about more than just growing a business—it’s about the lessons we’ve learned, the people we’ve met, and the joy we find in helping others create unforgettable experiences.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
This is such a tough question because San Diego has so much to offer! Our favorite coffee chain in San Diego is Better Buzz, so we would have to start our first day there. Afterward, we would head to the Torrey Pines hiking trail to soak in the beauty of this city. In the afternoon, we would make our way over to Pacific Beach for lunch and a walk around the boardwalk, visiting the many shops in the area. To finish off the day, we would have dinner at Javier’s and drinks at Raised by Wolves in La Jolla.
For the remainder of the week, we would continue to start our mornings with coffee– visiting some of our favorite coffee shops across San Diego, like Coffee Coffee in Encinitas, Hinar in Downtown, or S3 Coffee Bar in Mission Valley. In addition to coffee, we may visit a brunch spot or two, as there are so many “can’t miss” spots. After coffee, we would explore the city, making sure to hit all of the hotspots like Liberty Station, Old Town, Balboa Park, and, of course, the beach. We would visit as many of our favorite places as possible for lunch and dinner, enjoying all kinds of food. We would spend our days strolling through different parks and landmarks, shopping, and participating in activities like Run Club or beachside yoga. We’d also make it a priority to stop by and catch the sunset at Sunset Cliffs or one of the other beautiful viewpoints in the city. San Diego has so much to offer that a week’s visit may not even be enough time to show someone visiting all of the amazing and exciting things this city has to offer.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I believe the credit for our success goes to the strong relationships we’ve built around us. We are fortunate to have a core group of people who supported us from the very beginning and continue to do so today. Their ongoing encouragement and belief in our business have been so important in driving our success. Simply keeping us in mind and spreading the word has been the best form of business for us, as we truly believe in the power of word of mouth.
