We had the good fortune of connecting with Anna Crowe and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anna, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I started my career in finance, following the Big 4 CPA path, but quickly realized I craved something more creative: work that blended strategy, storytelling and genuine human connection. I’ve always loved bringing ideas to life and solving marketing challenges in fresh, meaningful ways, and that passion became the foundation for Crowe PR.

What began as a one-woman leap of faith has grown into a national, award-winning agency helping brands share stories that inspire action and drive real results.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Crowe PR is a global integrated PR, influencer marketing and social media agency built on the belief that powerful storytelling and measurable impact can (and should) coexist. What sets us apart is our ability to operate with the reach and sophistication of a global firm while keeping the heart, agility and personalized service of a boutique agency.

Our team brings deep expertise across consumer goods, healthcare technology, travel and lifestyle, but what truly differentiates us is how we think. We don’t just chase headlines; we connect creativity with strategy to build brand credibility, trust and growth.

I’m incredibly proud of the team we’ve built and the clients we get to partner with; they’re brands that inspire us daily. The journey hasn’t been without challenges, but those moments have taught me the power of resilience, clarity and alignment. Every obstacle has ultimately strengthened our vision and our commitment to helping brands share stories that move people and drive real results.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When my great friends visit, we start the day with a hot cup of Nespresso and a walk with the dogs around my neighborhood in Rancho Santa Fe. Then it’s off to downtown for a stroll through Seaport Village and brunch in Little Italy, maybe Morning Glory, Davanti or a cozy spot by the water.

After exploring India Street, we’ll head to the beach, hike Torrey Pines and sneak in a massage (or two) at Rancho Valencia before catching a coastal dinner and a sunset in Del Mar, which is easily one of my favorite ways to close out the day. And if we’re feeling playful, a quick game of pickleball always makes the list.

San Diego is such a beautiful mix of ocean, creativity and community. It’s the kind of place that fills your cup without even trying too hard.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
So many people have shaped my journey, but my biggest shoutout goes to my incredible family, friends, and the mentors who believed in me before I fully believed in myself. I also owe so much to the communities I’ve found along the way — like my EO (Entrepreneurs’ Organization) family and, of course, the amazing team at Crowe PR. Surrounding yourself with people who challenge you, inspire you and remind you of your “why” makes all the difference.

And then there are the books that have truly shifted my mindset — Screw It, Let’s Do It by Richard Branson, The Surrender Experiment by Michael Singer and 10x Is Easier Than 2x by Dan Sullivan and Benjamin Hardy. Each one taught me something profound about taking risks, letting go of control and thinking bigger than I ever thought possible.

No one builds something meaningful alone, and I’m forever grateful for the people — and the wisdom — that continue to push me to grow, evolve and dream bolder.
