Meet Anita Sadik | Cosmologist/ Lash Technician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Anita Sadik and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Anita, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I came up with my business when I had to choose to do everything on my like, acrylic nails, waxing and doing my own eyelash extensions because I was no longer able to afford them so I self thought and did them. Soon after family and friends came to me when they saw my work on myself and created my own business names after my first born son Legend.

What should our readers know about your business?
My business is called Legendary house of beauty. I came up with the first part of the business name, honoring my firstborn son, Legend and chose house of beauty because I was working from my home so that I’d have the ability to be with my son spending more time with him, rather than being at your 9 to 5, and paying for a sitter to care for him, and losing all that personal time with him. And I feel like what sets me apart from others as I really do pour my heart and my energy not only into my business but my clients I care about my clients. I care about my work so for me, it’s considered to be like lash therapy they come in and I hope enhance them from the outside, but also speak wisdom, faith, encouragement, and some speak the word of God through them. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve received message after message thanking me for the talk thanking me for helping getting them through whatever tough times they’re having and also by making them feel better not just internally, but externally with Lashes and waxing or whatever beauty services that they came in for. I am most proud of where I’m at today because of all the challenges that I have been through I think, regardless, starting up your own business is always very scary and comes with so many challenges, but I’ve never allowed myself to think it was not possible. We grew up with not much. My mom did everything she can to give us the best life she possibly can And she always made sure to tell us to just be strong, faithful and independent women showed us to be fighters mentally and spiritually and emotionally and I thank her for that because it’s spilled into the way I am with my business and my kids and I have faced so many challenges But one of the worst ones wives going from starting up my business to being so successful and being so busy and making so much money in my name was out there too suddenly starting to get sick then finding out I had stage three advanced neck and throat cancer and lost everything to beating it, and those same people who supported me from the beginning with supporting me through the Cancer Journey, encouraging me my family, my friends, my clients, who have turned into friends and watched me rebuild my business down to owning my first storefront currently today. And from those lessons, I have learned that no matter where you are in life we’re gonna get knocked down, but it’s the way you get your self up, not necessarily picking up the broken pieces, but creating a new stronger foundation and moving forward and handling everything so much better I feel that with these rough challenges it’s created stronger foundation, and I appreciate things so much more.
I want the world to know that no matter how tough something seems or how many bottles you face that you’re still able to get through it as long as you don’t allow it to consume you and moving forward, appreciating life and what you have and what I want them to know most about my brand my business in my story is I took everything that happened and every person that walks into my shop now I feel the need and want to help them whether it is just for an hour or to invest yourself and the people who are around you into your business because you can make a difference in someone life and that’s the most rewarding feeling!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
For me, I would have to say no matter where you go with the people you care about is always going to be the best time ever but then why not make it even better by bringing them to our beaches I would have to say I find fiesta Island/the Bay to be just what San Diego is about the sunshine in the water, the beaches, sand, and going out to eat after by the beach at place like Draft or over looking the water at Miguel’s Mexican restaurant down to the local fun bar that seems to be THE SPOT called the Hills over in La mesa. I also enjoy inviting friends and heading to catch out local hockey team play called San Diego Gulls. But most of all inviting them to join me for a great church service that fills there hearts up with love at both Skyline church and Footbills church!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
In the beginning of my career my sisters Nora & Neve, my nieces Athena & Annejulia and my best friend Kayla supported me all the way by allowing me to always practice on them. Then soon after my boyfriend and other friends began also supporting, encouraging & applauding me for how far a took my business on my own and stuck with it. Also all my amazing clients that have always supported & continue to. Down to the last couple years and now I would like to shout out also to the doctors and nurses at the David and Donna cancer center for help fighting my cancer journey with me and also referring me to the all their patients & helping encourage me back on my feet to rebuilding my business all over again through encouragement and prayers.
