We had the good fortune of connecting with Angela Walsh and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angela, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
Other than deciding to work for myself, the most important decision I made was investing in my first proper professional camera. I know how hard it can be to spend that kind of money—it feels risky at first. But making that investment changed everything for us. It was the moment we stopped treating photography like a hobby and stepped fully into being professional photographers. That one decision opened the door to so many opportunities we never would’ve had otherwise.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Our art is all about storytelling—capturing real, raw, and emotional moments in the most beautiful places. We specialize in elopements and intimate weddings, and what sets us apart is how deeply we care about the experience, not just the final product. We’re not just showing up with a camera—we’re helping couples feel grounded, present, and totally themselves on one of the most meaningful days of their lives. That connection and trust is everything to us.

We’re most proud of building a business that feels aligned with who we are. We’ve worked with couples from all over the world, and it still blows us away that we get to witness and document such personal, incredible moments. It hasn’t been easy—there were slow seasons, self-doubt, and lots of learning through trial and error. But every challenge pushed us to grow and refine what we truly care about.

One of the biggest lessons we’ve learned is to trust our gut. It’s easy to get caught up in trends or compare yourself to others in this industry, but the more we leaned into what felt right for us—our editing style, our client experience, our values—the more everything clicked.

If there’s one thing we want people to know about us, it’s that this isn’t just about pretty photos or cool locations. It’s about honoring the love and energy of two people choosing each other—and doing that in a way that feels intentional and real. That’s what lights us up, and we’re so grateful to do it

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would definitely bring them to Lake Tahoe or Yosemite! We do elopements in these locations often and are close to our home!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband Lee Walsh – he does our video work as well as is an officiant for our adventure elopement couples. Our daughter Araya is also joining the team and is a second shooter and content creator
